It occurred to me today that one of the easiest things that I can do while we wait to hear the next steps for action is to become a supporting member on here. So I just did, and now I'm gonna take a moment to show off my shiny new badge over there. Mmm, ya that orange pairs nicely.

Since a war has begun, we need tools. And ECF acts as the trusty radio in our ears. I probably still wouldn't even know about this news if it weren't for this site.

For anyone that's been like me and has put this off for far too long- this is the time to do the seemingly little things like this. 2 bucks a month is literally nothing compared to what we all spend on this hobby. So 24 bucks for a whole year...I think I bought a drip tip once overseas for that. I was surprised by all the payment options too (all at once, monthly, etc) Anyway do it, it feels good.

For those in this thread that may be new to ECF or may be considering moving into DIY based on the deeming regs:

I dont wander much on ECF apart for the DIY forum and have been more absent of late due to health issues. It took the FDA to drag me into this discussion. However, I have to tell you that Kurt's posts and knowledge were essential in all of the personal success and progress I have made In DIY juice since early 2012. Its because of him, and several others, that I have a number of stellar tobacco vapes from his work with tobacco absolute. It pushed me to make my own contributions as well to share what I had learned based off other peoples initial hard work. I cannot express enough thanks to him and other long time DIY contributors. I urge everyone to read Kurt's posts and take them to heart as essential DIY knowledge.

It will help you immensely.

Wow, thanks buffaloguy! :) Better vaping through chemistry!

By the way, Classwife made my storage post here a sticky in the DIY E-Liquids subforum, if anyone wants to look at it for reference. Right now it is locked, so you cannot add comments, but I may add some other thoughts to it over the coming weeks, time willing.

Long Term Nic Storage

One thing I left out was protective gear. I have decades of experience handling hazmats, but I still wear gloves, cover skin and put on eye protection. All part of the sacred ritual. And make sure the lighting is good...amber bottles can be hard to gauge how much liquid is in them and overflow easily, especially with a funnel.

Have you sent any messages asking him / corey were he stands on the regs matter ?

I sent a tweet to Hillary about FDA Final Rule hurting America and she tweeted back, "What difference does it make?" And I was like, really that's your stance? And she's like, "I'm proud to say we will be putting the industry and lots of vaping entrepreneurs out of business."

Sorry but I do dislike the spreading of misinformation.

Ooops, disregard what I wrote above. ;)

I am a member of CASAA, I joined last year. Now, I'm thinking about how much I can afford to donate to them to fight off this tyranny.

Any amount you can donate will help. Even a few bucks a month--PayPal makes it easy and painless. CASAA needs help more than ever now. And we need their help. You can make a one-time contribution or set up monthly donations via PP, which I believe is what most of us do here.

And thanks!

YIKES that was just a copied link of his contact info, not a show support link.

Robino1, can you make that show contact info instead of show your support?

I can bury the link wording in a link that says Contact Info. You can do it yourself. I can walk you through the steps.

See the chain link in the line items at the top of the reply box here? Type what you want the link to say first, in the post box. Highlight the words that you want it to say. Grab the link that you want to be in those words then click the chain link and paste the actual link in the box that comes up. Most of the time the link you grabbed will already be there for you.

Give it a shot. If you have a problem, go ahead and let me know and I can change it for you. :)

Please specify which bill. Thanks :)

Sorry wasn't this bill I don't think.. at the time this broke I was looking up another bill and I crossed thoughts..

But I guess in my defence of telling the future I am sure that is how it would play out.. Clinton with her payouts from BP and BT.. Sanders because he loves all the government..

So as a fortune teller I am confident in what I said.. politics is my game.. so..

Sorry about rhe misconception.

I Hate to Tell you this. But Many B&M's owner's know Exactly what is going on. And how Devastating it will be for their Vapers.

But Refuse to Inform their customers for fear they will Learn to do DIY. And see that it is Orders of Magnitude cheaper than buying "House Brand" B&M e-Liquids.

Um... I don't think so. There are many B&Ms in SoCal, I've visited but a few, but most of the people I talked to were rather clueless and uninformed. I remember our brave @DC2 describing his efforts to educate shop owners and employees in the past--he even printed and personally delivered CASAA fliers to them.

Having said that, there are others who are very active, informed and very involved in advocacy. I don't want to mention any names here, but we all know who they are.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but, people are slamming FDA on FB. Some people are stating "vaping saved my life, smoke free for "X" years. And probably on Twitter too but I don't have an account to see. Social media can reach thousands and I hope it keeps going!

ETA...maybe this guy needs to be bothered a bit with emails and so forth. HAHAHAHA

Thank you for this information. I wasn't aware that she was with CASAA.

Still, public outrage and speaking up, in various forms, is what sway opinions. Yes, I signed petitions and e-mailed legislators even before these regulations were released. I do not see how continuing to do so, or having others do so to even increase the numbers more, would hurt. Maybe someone can explain that to me?

Like others have said, I don't think it can hurt. But it may give some people a false sense that they have "done their part" and move on to other pursuits. I have signed many pro-vaping petitions in the past, a few even exceeded the 100K threshold, and nothing ever came out of it. IOW, as long as you are a member of CASAA and respond to their calls to action, sign whatever you feel like signing. Just keep in mind that CASAA works with lawyers who understand the legislative process and know whom to contact and what to say.

Good luck!
