They stopped FT from shipping 18650s about 2-3 years ago.....
I think that's a safety issue invoked by air carriers (lithium). Trust me, there will be literally hundreds of Chinese sellers available to deliver goods "under the table".

Like most here though, I'm not worried for myself - I'll find whatever I need. It's the poor .......s that will now choose the convenience of tobacco that concerns me.

It's unfortunate that it would take about another decade of this deeming to show that smoking rates spiked the same rate that they dropped in the last 8 years, including the sudden spike in cigarette usage in those poor teens we are trying to save.

This is my understanding also--some lithium batteries were exploding in cargo compartments, causing fires. It had nothing to do with e-cigs. We have to (and always will) import batteries--we don't make them here, AFAIK.

The batteries werent the point. Call them "widgets". They wanted to stop "widgets" from coming into the US via airplanes, and they were successful. This demonstrates their ability to severely curb the flow of a specific import if they want to.

Oh, I misunderstood. Sorry, Mike. My head is spinning... And I agree. :)

I remember FDA trying to seize e-cig shipments back in 2009...

I'm sure they're working on how they're going to explain that.

They'll blame it on anything but themselves I'm sure.
And most likely find a way to somehow blame it right back on us.

"A network of small, complicated rules. It does not break wills, but softens them. It does not tyrannize, it hinders, represses, stupefies, and finally it reduces each nation to being nothing more than a flock of timid animals, of which the government is the shepherd."

Wrong. The FDA started seizing e-cig shipments in 2009--they were not illegal then by any definition I'm aware of.

It's also one of the leading causes of drinking, smoking and screaming at your kids.

And here's the first attempt to remove it from the Appropriations bill--just posted by our friend @crxess in another thread. I give up.

"We are writing to express our strong opposition to two provisions in the House Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2017 that would significantly weaken the Food and Drug Administration’s authority over several tobacco products including e-cigarettes and cigars."

And in 90 days any NEW (to the market) piece of vape gear will be illegal contraband unless it has an approved PMTA, China is not exempt from this!

American Lung Association exists because of cigarettes. Now let's see how much these organizations contributed to the FDA and the campaigns of those who want these regs.

Ah no, mods and attys would / could be used for the use of other things and as long as the proper labeling as mentioned, they already are being sold as such for medical use, juice on the other hand would have to be labeled as no nic and as mentioned before, their not going to ban the internet / sale of pg/vg and flavoring unless you are selling other tobacco products and they are for the intent to use as such.
What your not realizing is, their estimate of 5000 hours PER application, that doesn't include the risk assessment testing either, how do you get ALL this done in 24 months ? and then of course their going to step up internet / customs security ? your talking billions of tax payers money, not application / testing money
There "business" planning is piss poor at best considering were
$19,188,102,413,249 - Debt as of May 2016
Litigation and lobbying we go .....................

And that may be how we need to present it to the general, non-vaping public. The government is going to spend their money to police something that the same people who said smoking was dangerous now says is 95% safer, something that hasn't caused a single illness in 10 years, and that has helped billions of smokers quit. When all else fails, hit em in the pocket book.
