That's what I said. That's why I don't understand why people think DIY will be unaffected. That's why I asked if there is another viable "intended use" for nic base.

Yeah... I kinda SMH when I Hear/have Herd that "DIY will be Unaffected" thing.

Here are all the data from the USC study, including Compounds, Outdoor air, e-Cigarette, and normal cigarette.http://www.rsc.org/suppdata/em/c4/c4em00415a/c4em00415a1.pdf

For your convenience, listed below are the amounts of Cr, Ni, Pb, Zn and Al in outdoor air vs e-cigarette vapor:
wink.gif

Cr: 5.53 vs 4.22
Ni: 5.57 vs 6.14 (+/-2.9)
Pb: 13.28 vs 9.85
Zn: 54.31 vs 56.08 (+/- 21 [sic])
Al: 333.27 (±62.93) vs 161.43 (±71.35)

So, vapor is actually healthier, per this study, than the air we breathe here in SoCal.

Unless you are a Vaper in So-Cal. Then it is a Double Whammy.

Because we use that So-Cal Air when we vape.

;)

According to Ocelot a few pages back the patent on the last commercially marketed pesticide that used nicotine was not renewed and expired years ago.

Also, was it pure USP nicotine suspended in PG/VG? Was it something we would actually want to use as a base?

Bring it back! Save the planet! I'm sure Gore would be sympathetic. Non-GMO, fauna and flora friendly all natural insecticide. We should start a petition now. :D

What are the CC companies scared of ...guilty by association?

There were Campaigns by Smoke Free Kid groups (sadly probably Bill's group as well) and other 3 and 4 letter agencies - the ones who have praised the FDA for the deeming - too numerous to mention but people here know who they are. Many funded by Robert Woods Johnson foundation, etc. etc.

They campaigned the credit card companies first for online cigarette sales from Native American reservations, and other places and they shut that down for credit cards, then the RYO tobacco companies - which is were reservation cigarette business went - same thing - no paypal, no cc, only bank wires.

Not Sure I Understand your Question?

MITCH ZELLER: We will be able to address the rule of flavors in each and every one of the applications that the companies submitted for marketing authorization, and they will have to answer our questions about what role are the flavors in your products playing in initiation by kids and initiation by anyone who’s never used the product? We’ll be able to handle that through the applications.

How will manufacturers be able to show what role the flavors in THEIR products play in initiation by kids and initiation by anyone who’s never used the product?

It sounds like companies are going to have to answer that question for every flavor. Does that mean they will have to determine if tutti-frutti initiates more or less than tobacco flavored or key lime pie?

And why is initiation by anyone who's never used the product a bad thing? The major turning point for me was that the taste of Green Smoke wasn't cutting it and I wondered if another brand might make a coconut flavor. It was during this search I learned the term "vaping," found out about better gear, bought an eGo and quit smoking.

Skoony, all pawn shops process electronic payments but every single one of them process those payments through a high risk processor. Same with catering companies (chargebacks).

The reason pawn shops will always have to use a high fee/high risk processor is because of stolen goods. And possibly because of used goods like consignment.

Vape shops are in a high risk category because of "fringe" goods. Processors are pretty smart. Wild west industries always get reigned in. Many prefer just not to get involved.
Pawn shops are main stream and have been for some time. stolen goods is not the issue
it once was and has almost been eliminated. Many shops use the the national data base.
As pawn shops pay in cash CC is is not an issue. All sales are as is and final. Again not an issue.
Any stolen goods that may slip through, still not a CC issue. Pawn shops do not knowingly sell
stolen goods. If they follow the procedures prescribed by law they are not held criminally
responsible for doing so. At the time of sale with no indication other than the sale is legal,
final and as is,the CC company is resolved of any responsibility. If at a later time it was discovered
that in fact the merchandise was stolen it is becomes a civil issue between the shop and the purchaser
and, a criminal mater for who ever sold the merchandise to the pawn shop. The CC company has no
obligation because at the time of the sale everything was legal. End of story for them. The shop refunds
the customers money and I believe may be legally required to do so with out undue delay. The shop
owner than has recourse to recoup his loss from the thief if at all possible.
Back in the day of paper accounting there may have been issues. Not today. Pawn shops are as legit
as any 7 11. In the case of internet sales the only thing that would apply is misrepresentation which
doesn't apply yo face to face as is sales.
Regards
Mike

I know it CAN be used as a pesticide, but I don't know of anyone who markets USP grade nicotine in concentrations that we would want to use as anything other than for vaping.
Well of course it has to be! What barbarian would kill pesteses with anything not USP and Organic??? :)

Here in California, it's been scientifically documented, actually--see USC study. I could find a link, but my headache is getting worse by the minute...

I'm familiar with that study ... and a few others. Put the hammer down... take a break, have some red wine :- )

I don't think I've heard anyone say it would be unaffected. Nicotine seems to be the one thing that everyone actually agrees can not escape regulation- it's the one thing in the equation that doesn't have a legit alternate purpose.

That's why you're seeing so much talk about freezers and glass bottles and learning to DIY. A lifetime supply of nic can be purchased for a couple hundred dollars...

...for now.

Actually that isn't what it says. It says it is made in the same labs as J&J.
Any one want to make a bet as to where these labs are? I know they aren't in
Saint Paul.
Natural, organic, environmentally friendly insecticide? My roses are always pestered by aphids. :)
I believe nicotine based insecticide is no longer commercially available and banned
for sale in many states. Monsanto and companies like it dominate the market now.
i am not sure if this is due to regulatory restrictions or the new stuff works better and
natural market place forces drove nicotine from the market or both. you can still make your
own. So much tobacco leaf or chew in so much water soaked for x amount of time then
put into a spray bottle an its (sung to the tune of the pink panther) dead ant, dead ant,
Dead ant-dead ant-dead ant,etct.. .

Nothing will stop this FDA Train Wreck within the next 3 years ... here's where I am holding onto hope ... I am going to become a Black Market ... however, not one that is in it for money.

I am going to be part of a BM that proves Vaping is the Miracle the World has been waiting for ... I posted before how this Hijacking of Vaping to replace lost taxes will be exposed ...

well, I've been planning for this exact FDA situation for a long time ... when the hammer drops and only cigalikes are allowed, I am going to get others to help me (people with nic and mods ... aka suppliers).

Within 5 years ... we will have doctors on our side ... it will have been 15 years from the start.

Mark my words ... They are not going to find Vaping as the killer or annoyance they're trying to make it out to be.

Science will prevail on this ... I may not be able to do this alone with 30 setups (the study starts with how to build your coil) ... I will recruit others to join me.

I am going to be part of this Black Market that exposes the cover up on Vaping.

There's too much Nicotine and quality gear for this not to get jammed straight down the throats of the FDA

They are also in Swedish snus, if you need them, and in (now discontinued) dissolvable tobacco like Ariva and Stonewall. Perhaps in WTA e-liquids, but this is a new product so jury is still out. Snus has been around for 200 years and its safety record and efficacy are not under dispute.
Never tried snus, but nicotine gum and chewing tobacco give me horrible hiccups.
