Yesterday I spent some time in the field visiting a couple of B&Ms. The Vegas valley has about 70 vape shops and about 200 of what we call a Smoke shop which sells combustibles, hookah gear and of course vaping gear including hardware and juice. The three vape shops I visited all know me and my conversations on a confidential basis were conducted with the owners. I gave each of them the SFATA Overview and Timeline of the FDA Final Rule. Here is a summary of my visit:

- The greater majority of their customers (around 90%) don't have a clue about what happened with respect to the FDA slaughter. I actually observed this with my very old eyes across perhaps 30 customers. Not a word, question, or concern. I was shocked yet not really. The typical Vapor doesn't spend all day on ECF like we do. They vape!

- Generally speaking they found the SFATA document very valuable since it helped them understand the issues. They all knew about the slaughter but had not yet dived into all the details.

- Naturally, as we walked around the shop and looked at the products, signage, POS stuff, the owners played the "what if I ......" which is perfectly understandable. They know I'm not an attorney and I again made that crystal clear. They stumped me on two issues and I told them I would do my best to get them an answer.

- Many Vegas shops are in the early stages of organizing a legal protest march down the "strip" and that's the Las Vegas strip! One of the most famous streets in the world. I can't wait! They are trying to coordinate this protest march with other large cities and they already have a committee and such composed of shop owners but I'm not privy to their meetings.

- None of the owners I spoke with have the slightest interest or financial means to get a PMTA for a given skew. They have not heard or learned anything with respect to the FDA slaughter from their "upstream suppliers" desire to get a PMTA.

- I purchased at full retail, juice from all three shops. Really! I need more juice like I need a hole in the head but that's my way of offering support. After all, thanks only goes so far, these owners have family's and employees to support among other things. That's just my own way of doing things.

So that concludes my own non scientific thoughts. Obviously, your own "out in the field" experiences may be different and I encourage you with every fiber of my old body to hit the streets and see what's cooking in your neck of the woods.

Stay Strong! Fight!

They started the Hijacking of Vaping too late ... they might have succeeded when all we had were cigalikes.

However, we are all armed with amazing devices that are proven cigarette killers ... and we have the nicotine stocked for the next 10-20 years.

Just like the other stuff, doctors will eventually chime in about the positive results in their patients.

Shortest Prohibition ever ... and yes, people deserve to go to Prison for this attempted hijacking.
I expect that under the new regs that health capre professionals will not be allowed to tell you that vaping is safer than cigs, etc.

That's OK ... because I'm going to be part of the movement that proves it to them.

So many ways around some of these regs.
ie. For the bm's that have samples......stop giving them for free....instead ...for .50 or a dollar you can sample any or all of our flavors to find ones you would like.

OR
I cannot legally tell you that ecigs work or helps you to quit cigarettes, but if you are interested in my personal story, I can tell you of my journey....

when pointing out where to look online for info on the products you sell, regs, health and clinical studies, forums(hehe)

Just brainstorming.......

Some of them may not even be sure themselves, with the avalanche of misinformation that has been coming down on vaping. Likely the pharmaceutical reps have been pumping out self serving studies for a couple years.

Undoing the misinformation will be an important part of getting vaping back on track in America.

Both prophetic & pathetic. Until the masses realize that big government is not the answer but is the problem (and actually do something about it) things will continue to decline as our liberties are stripped from us under the pretense of protecting us.

Thank you very much but I'll continue to protect myself by whatever means necessary.

I you are like me when you open up the vapocalypse box and look at some of the stuff in there you think "I don't even remember buying that thing...or how to use it." I have a tank in mine that looks an awful lot like that picture. It was supposed to combine 2 different juices as you vape it. No clue what possessed me to buy it.

Is this it @Myrany?

Was hoping to get closer to 75k or more, but I'm thinking next week might be a good time.
I was hoping for at least 75,000 too. I guess we just haven't contacted enough folks :( Sadly I have run out of ways to let them know and it is truly sad that there are millions of Vapers out there that have no idea what is coming once these regs are written in stone and they are going to be left wondering why someone didn't do something about it.

Just more proof that the FDA was playing a game with us since 2009. They tried to kill the industry back then and their goal has not changed.

All those hearing we watched, study after study, coming in proving what we all already knew from our own experience. All of it was nothing to the FDA, pageantry on their part nothing more.

Years ago I tried talking about this to non-vapers and they usually responded with all the good that the FDA does. Well if an abusive father still pays the bills, it doesn't erase the abuse.

I followed the links to send my local officials emails and such. I just got this response just now to my email:
ETA: I'm in North Carolina.
Dear Mrs. Crook:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding H.R. 2058, the FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to finalize regulations for electronic cigarettes in 2015. In a bizarre example of the Obama administration creating novel definitions to words with otherwise plain meaning, the FDA has decided to regulate electronic cigarettes as tobacco products even though electronic cigarettes do not contain tobacco. These regulations will apply to e-cigarettes released into the market after February 15, 2007. Since the majority of these products did not exist prior to this date, nearly all e-cigarette products will be affected by these new regulations coming out of FDA.

On April 28, 2015, Representative Tom Cole (R-OK) introduced H.R. 2058, which was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee before being referred to the Subcommittee on Health. If enacted, H.R. 2058 would prevent FDA from banning tobacco products that have been introduced to the market after 2007.

I understand your concerns with the Federal Drug Administration's regulation of electronic cigarettes and agree that e-cigarettes should not be subject to tobacco product regulations, since they are, in fact, products that contain exactly no tobacco. The out-of-control executive branch regulatory regime has hurt our economy, as evidenced by the unacceptable economic stagnation we have been experiencing for far too long. If H.R. 2058 comes before the Senate, I will support it.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. It is important to hear from citizens on issues that affect the state and the nation. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me again about other important issues.

Sincerely,

Honesty, I really don't see BT really doing much more than they already have. Why should they bother? They'll be the only game in town. They may even start killing off their current products, after the regulations are fully in place, and everything has shaken out. Analog cigarettes are MUCH cheaper to make, after all.
And they'll all just say hey, those electronic cigarettes were a fun experiment.
But they aren't really working, so we're done here.
