Oh, they did! I tried to open one of those new buckets of them I got from Costco to run the dishwasher... had to break out a screwdriver to get the damn lid open. As always, child-resistant equals old-guy-who-can't-read the-tiny-instructions-resistant as well.
Yeah, I didn't mean it in a bad way, as in they made the complaints disappear. The industry actually worked to fix the problem, without regulations. Harder to open packages, opaque containers, even a bitter coating on the pods themselves.

Depends, since you're in California was there a visible Prop 65 warning somewhere?

Since you're in California, you should know there was a visible Prop 65 warning -somewhere- nearby. If there wasn't, I think it's printed on the sign as you enter the state or it's implied.

How much does anyone want to bet saying your hand lotion helps
keep your skin moist and hydrated is going to be a medical claim
according to the FDA?
Mike

Or claiming that make-up makes one more attractive? They are also going to have to stop target marketing make-up for girls under 18, since it contributes to teen pregnancy.

And for all of you thinking you were being answered by bots

“To reinforce this alternate universe, the FDA’s official twitter feed has been responding to serious questions with life or death consequences with answers that appear to me as detached from reality, almost as if the account is a bot, poorly programmed to reply with answers based on keywords in the question.”

My guess would be kids eating Mom's lipstick thinking it's candy and possibly the 'pretty colored' eye shadows...

This...it's listing Exposures....and would probably include just "question calls"
The FDA would LOVE to put Aromatherapy out of business as well....
Have to wonder if they're just going after everyone in hopes of at least taking out some.

If something makes one feel even a little bit better it has to be regulated as a drug or removed from the market. Pleasure, and by extension happiness, is a sin.

    I'm a stormfinch, of course. :D

According to these though, I'm a Libertarian leaning Centrist Dove.

You changed your avatar and I didn't know who you were. I thought how could anyone else be a StromFinch?

I know many people like this. What a burden to have to live with. And this is why I know quitting is impossible for many people including myself. Who wants to drag that weight around for the rest of their lives. Enter vaping. This is why vaping is the greatest invention since the garage door opener. We can continue our bad habit with only 5% of the harm. I'll take that tradeoff anytime!

I often wonder if the quit smoking testimonials and comments are strictly interpreted that the majority of us are seeking a "quitting tool" along the lines of NRTs or other "medical" solution.

I don't think that's really the case for many of us imho. At least for me it isn't. I totally enjoy my near guiltless recreational habit. It's not a quitting tool as much as it's an alternative lifestyle choice. Heck, I loved smoking until guilt/health started bearing down on my psyche and body.

I'm personally not in it for "cessation". I see it as a simple additional free choice for recreational use of nicotine and the act of inhaling to consume it. I personally don't care one bit if a never smoker vapes nicotine. A fairly large segment of humans are hardwired to smoke and consume nicotine. It's been going on for centuries. Technology solved 95% of the health problems.

I think a better message would be that recreational use of vaping nicotine is a completely acceptable choice for everyone. Smoker or not. The world isn't ready for that though. Lol

There is some merit to that. On the other hand, I would be reluctant to encourage a non-smoker to take up vaping. To be honest, I would rather not vape either. The thought of not having a crutch would be something I'd like to try if I thought I could do it.
