This is a bit late, but that surveyor was vetted by CASAA. I'm not saying you have to do it, but they seemed pretty confident that it would be used to benefit us in some way. At this point, I'm not sure how it could hurt us. The FDA already wants to send us back to closed systems, perhaps getting someone to understand why this works for us would be a good thing.I just skipped about 10 pages of this thread as I'm in the middle of completing the Call To Action that I received from CAASA and need a quick answer (forgive me if this has been addressed) - are you all filling out the "Survey"??? As I'm filling it out, it is making me nervous that they are going to use this against us (i.e. collecting info that will actually be used for their own means?)
This is a response I got on FB about one of my posts.
"Vapor products are killing children, especially under 2 years of age."
Just one sentence. I blasted back with 10. LOL. People are such sheep. She is an exsmoker. I kind of expect that from the these types.
One child. One death about a year ago. Due to negligence on the adults that are supposed to supervise. Nicotine left on a coffee table within reach of the child and the cap was never found.

I replied but you may not have seen it. If it is on CASAA page, I think you should do a survey. At this point, if we don't do something, we are sunk.

I'm sure smoking cigarettes have killed MANY MANY MANY more 2 year olds as a result of houses burning down due to unattended cigarettes. Too many people with too much misinformation.
Department of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; Nicotine Dependence Center, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN - First published online: January 31, 2016
Feasibility of Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems in Surgical Patients
Conclusion: "ENDS use is feasible in adult smokers scheduled for elective surgery and is associated with a reduction in perioperative cigarette consumption. These results support further exploration of ENDS as a means to help surgical patients reduce or eliminate their cigarette consumption around the time of surgery."
The 2017 spending and budget bills may not be voted by the full House and Senate until the end of the year, so uncertainty in the market will continue to linger.
Nice find!
Also note these findings:
At 30-day follow-up, 34 (51%) who had used ENDS planned to continue using them. Average cigarette consumption decreased from 15.6 per person/d to 7.6 over the study period (P < .001). At 30 days, 11/67 (17%) reported abstinence from cigarettes
Keep in mind - these were NOT PEOPLE TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING. These were people who happened to need surgery. And yet 51% of them kept using ecigs, and as a group, they cut their cigarette usage by MORE than half, and 17% quit smoking altogether.
Just like this, it's probably the MOST EFFECTIVE cessation approach in history: IMAGINE if they were motivated quitters?
