Not just my opinion - see the Dimitris video where he states just that and the Siegel video me and others have posted in this thread - likely where Dimitris got his data. As far as help or hurt, depends on where their contributions may go now. Some Dems may have second thoughts.
And some on the other side are happy that most of the Dems are against vaping so they do not have to really take a stand. Let the other guys take the hit and deny liking what they are doing.
They are in the majority right now in both houses of congress though....

I think BT support will help the bill. As I said, those who don't like BT aren't supporting it anyway. And others who might get contributions from BT may help support - some Dems there as well, but not the 'usual suspects' of course.
I'm on the fence as to whether or not this hurts us. The Boxers and Feinsteins, I'm afraid, will never support us, no matter how much we try to convince them they should.

If BT actually supports it then my 2 US senators might support it.

A point we will continue to Agree on. Big tobacco saw Regulation as a Protection to their business practices, shielding them from continued individual Suites as well as Blocking any Future competition from outside Tobacco interest. It also Guaranteed Government would not attempt outright Ban of the product.

Big Tobacco is skilled at an international level and swift to fight to minimize Government interference in Business as usual.

*Governments - Oh look, we are going to pit Nasty Pictures on Cigarette Packs.:w00t:
Big Tobacco - Yea, and there will still be 20 Marlboro's inside that pack.:sneaky:

Personally, I think this tactic was more to embarrass Smokers even more....Oh Gross, look at that pack...............and you still smoke:glare:

I get the point Governments - Let me Vape in peace!

Yes, I am anti-conformist
I Believe in individuality

The just creates a whole new market of lengths of gaffer's tape cut to just the correct size.

I will believe BT is on our side when I see them dump big sums of money into research and development of ALL vape products...gear, liquid, and accessories. We have seen the positive effects of vape innovation by companies who are just a small fraction of the size of BT with R & D budgets that are a drop in the bucket compared to the R & D budgets of BT. Think of how BT could advance vaping technology and market tested flavor enhancements with the deep pockets they have. For that matter, one could say the same thing about BP employing the smoking cessation angle and qualifying vaping as a "medicine". Unless I am oblivious (which is always a possibility with me), I haven't seen any of these efforts.

They are the 'usual suspects' - along with Durbin, Schumer, Blumenthal, Sherrod Brown, Markey, Merkely, et al. Kay Hagan, now gone, was with us. But google tells the story:

No results found for "Democrats who support vaping".

Hagan, coming from Tobacco Road (North Carolina), knew she would be hung if she supported the 2009 Tobacco Act so she voted against it. The only Democrat to do so. Turns out she was in favor of too many other unpopular laws and she got hung anyway in 2014 after serving only one term. And I helped by actively campaigning against her re-election. She lost by a thin margin so I like to believe I helped make a difference but she employed the race card late in the campaign and she went from a 1 - 2 point lead to a one point loss and I think that is what made the last minute difference. The race card has lost its luster in NC.

31 votes for the amendment is taking a stand. 54 cosponsors of HR 2058 are taking a stand. Many vocally and via emails support us, as we have seen.
Ahh but the real test ois int the final vote and if they let the vape opposers remove the ammendment from the bill or gut it somehow. It is in the FULL house now isn't it? Push comes to shove and deal making going an the R's will throw vaping under the bus and blame it all on the dems.

I sincerely hope I am proven wrong but do not expect to be.

As long as we're speculating beyond the actual support shown, I'll say that the Appropriation bill in the House will pass. Whether it will include a Cole/Bishop type amendment in the Senate - that remains to be seen.

Globally, sales of vapour devices grew by 59pc to £3.9bn – breaking through $6bn for the first time – as business in its largest market, the US, more than doubled to £1.7bn, according to data from Euromonitor International.
Vaping takes off as e-cigarette sales break through $6bn

Matthew Myers, president of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, said the House language could keep products on the market that appear to be targeted to children, like cigars and e-cigarettes in a variety of candy and fruit flavors.

Yes, Cigars are for Kids:rolleyes:
No 62yr old Ex-Smokers don't like Candy or Fruit:facepalm:

Well aware of that campaign... I've liked the replies by Tillis that I have seen regarding the deeming.

The bill “is nothing short of a giveaway to the tobacco industry,” said New York Rep. Nita Lowey, the top Democrat on the Appropriations Committee.

I guess the Only thing that Lowey could have said to make it sound Worse is...

Eh, shades of grey, the implication is already there.
