I honestly believe we are going to see the Deeming regs relaxed, heavily modified, or eliminated with new management.

The CR on the transportation appropriations gives a glimmer of hope.

They eliminated the bloat that would strangle truckers, kept it lean and extended only until April for the Trump Regime to hopefully push a long term appropriations bill.

Course, that's no definite indication of what the coming gov't will do.

Nor does it cross platform to vaping.

But hopefully it's a sign of what's to come across the board.

Then again, the new secretary of transportation IS Mitch McConnells wife.

Though, I hear she has a good track record.

Mixed feelings...

And mixed feelings is a marked improvement over what we have been feeling since the regs were introduced. The trend is our friend.

Well I can tell you for fact that my folks bought it totally.
My Mother will never switch now.
I can't even vape in their house anymore - and my Mother smokes in the house.

How many others have been totally frightened away now ??

Not say'n that some Damage hasn't been Done. That was the Purpose of what the SG did. Poisoning the well before you move on.

But in the Longer Term, things like the UK Health Report and the Royal Academy of Physicians recommendations will sway more People.

I'm trying to stay positive.

And I meant in general.

Though, you're absolutely correct.

As far as vaping goes, my personal general sentiment was "we're screwed".

Though now my anxiety has been tripled with the sentiment of "I hope we're not screwed".

My younger brother posts anti-vaping stuff to FB (WHO, formaldehyde, you name it). I've tried to put a ..... in the armor for years. Despite the UK reports, Dr F's rebuttal of studies etc, now it's game over because the SG says it "MAY" "MIGHT" "COULD" be bad for kids (who based on most current laws shouldn't be getting ecigs anyway - just like their use of cigarettes, alcohol and other restricted drugs but that's a different rant!). He's all for the FDA regulations because we just don't know what they're putting in them nor the long term effects (popcorn lung), there is risk of metals and particles, it's a wild west.. Yup, he's got all the buzz words and no perspective of the relative risk or reality (a comet MAY land on my head so ban comets please). UGH.

Oh, I dunno.

I'd be alright with that.

But I'm not paying for enforcement.

I'm hoping you didn't mean that it was Ok for a comet to land on my head
(although some would agree with that sentiment)

Thanks for the laugh, I needed it today!

Excessive taxation can be as if not more successful at crushing vaping than regulations. And as it is state by state, far harder to mount an effective defense. Look at PA, even the tobacco free folks didn't want those taxes applied yet they were still hit with a 40% tax anyway.

Boston Vape Party anyone? :D
But don't forget the vaping regulations Pence signed into law in Indiana, crushing the businesses there...
That was my first thought upon reading Senator Johnson's latest letter. I wonder if he realizes what Pence did in IN?

Perhaps Senator Johnson doesn't care about his past because that's a state issue versus a federal issue. (As a devoted scenical SOB I doubt Pence read or knew anything more than what his advisors told him or gave him).

For me what is going on in Indiana really has not affected me personally, sense I DIY my own juice, but a friend at work said his friends that vape, can't get any higher nicotine than 6 mg/ml. They were forced to go from 12 mg/ml to 6 overnight. When I first quit I had to use 24 mg/ml, I would not have been successful with anything lower. I am now at 12 mg/ml and really do not plan on going any lower. I could see how someone trying to quit using the 6, would just go back to smoking. I have not heard any news at all about the lawsuit going on, but I hope they win the case here.

What we forget is the way things are are deemed bad but then later reversed.

Coffee
Eggs
Butter

Things that were told to us that were better for us then were reversed.

Vegetable oil
Margarine
Saccharine

I have hope.

Ironically...

Coffee (with dairy)
Eggs
Butter

Are horrible for my son.

Vegetable oil
Margarine

Are acceptable substitutes.

And the way he reacts to sugar, saccharin is questionable.

But he's some serious food allergies.
