Haven't been on in a while. I just received an infuriating article. Florida has an amendment to our State Constitution to ban offshore drilling. They just happened to add a ban on vaping in enclosed workplaces onto it. I do not understand what these two have in common. What a bunch of baloney. A vaping ban has no business being in any Amendment. I am guessing someone with deep pockets put it in this particularb Amendment to make sure it will pass. So frustrated!

MeeToo. Tracked this through markup and couldn't pick up how or where there was to be any public debate or information (once the needed signatures were obtained or anyone in legislature submits to apparently move in short order to the ballot!). The nefarious part of all this chicanery is how they simply lump a bunch of unrelated things into a single amendment just like our federal gov. No one will read beyond the title and short summary, if they read at all. Florida, in my lifetime, has practically become just like all the City States. Maybe we need a divorce from Tallahassee.

p.s. Here in Broward, there was merely a notice given for public comment some time back…in the funny papers just a day or so prior to the meet. The threshold for amendment submission is rather low.

eBay is impossible to police. Oh sure, items can be removed, and sellers can be banned, but if items are profitable for sellers, they will get re-listed, and if sellers get banned, they just create new accounts. I have a dozen years experience with this, fighting with illegally pirated copies of my stuff on there, and it's a never ending game of whack-a-mole.

I've bought/sold a bit of stuff on ebay. Some new stuff, some used stuff. By and large it has worked out well. But you do have to be on your toes and buy from established and reputable sellers. I had only two purchases go sideways. One was when the seller accidentally swapped shipping labels with another customer. I got his stuff and he got mine. That other customer apparently liked my stuff more than his and decided to keep it. I got my $$ back from the seller but it was quite an adventure. Another time someone sent me something defective and I think he knew it (can't know for certain). Had no problem returning it. In both cases the sellers were established. They don't want negative reviews and I'm sure that is what motivated them to fix the problems.

So far, I only had one problem with an unresponsive seller who took the money and kept the goods. I will say that ebay got on it. It worked out well and rather quickly.

About 10 years ago I auctioned an expensive piece with "Shipping To The US ONLY" written and bolded very obviously in the body of the ad. Someone from Brazil sniped it at the last second. I denied him and offered it to the next highest bidder for $25 less than the high bid. He accepted and was thrilled about it. That Brazilian bidder got me almost $400 more than the second bidder would have won it for had the intruder not sniped it.
The Brazilian left me negative feedback and Epay wouldn't back me even though it was clearly stated in the ad that he wasn't allowed. I stated the explanation in my return comment and left him neg feedback.
I had over 100 positive feedback ATT so the 1 neg was worth the extra $400
Life went on.

My crystal ball is cracked, but it is not a far fetched prediction.

I do the same thing. Significant sales numbers with 99 or above rating. And I read the negative ones. Buyers can be full of it too.

But given the fugitive determination to resist so far exhibited by vapers at large FDA prolly conclude they've already won. It's already done deal, nothin to see here. Easy to enjoin a website and the bigger the better example. It's the shades drawn dark dank glycerin smeared corners for us crew. So it is written; so it shall be. Their speech, not ours. Glimpsed perhaps, but not heard.

I sell on eBay from time to time, but it's much more rare compared to me buying.

When you sell not everyone gives feedback.. usually only about 10 or 20% will bother, and it's not because you didn't provide good service it's just that people don't take the time.

I've never figured out how to get a majority of buyers to leave feedback. Lol..

My ratings are 100% positive, but as I buy more than I sell, most are from purchases.

This doesn't mean that I would be a bad seller, I'm actually very careful to price according to market value, and accurately describe anything I sell and if the item is used describe any flaws..

I also don't list without shipping within 24 hours, I'm careful about that..

I'm saying all these things because really I'm likely typical of someone who isn't running a business on eBay but do occasionally have something worth selling and so utilize that aspect of eBay from time to time.

Due to that, I wouldn't shy away from people who aren't running businesses on eBay, but rather look at how long they've been on eBay and what their feedback rating is..

If someone is well established on eBay and has 100% positive feedback it's likely they will be a lovely seller too..

Buyer bought a brand new kid's Lands' End Squall jacket from me (had 5 pics in the listing showing it was brand new and still in the factory packaging). She received it and then filed with eBay and PP saying the item was "not as described" and she wanted to do a return. They told her to return it, provide proof of shipping it back, and she'd be refunded. What I GOT BACK...was her kid's ratty, old and stained, same size & color LE Squall jacket! I obviously complained to eBay & PP, showed picture proof of what I'd received back, and they still refunded her money & shipping from my PP account! So she ended up with my brand new jacket AND a full refund plus shipping. They'd already done away with being able to post negative feedback for buyers, so I couldn't even warn other sellers about her. That did it for me...I closed my eBay store and haven't sold on there since then.

Sad really. And the opp can be just as true, for some buyers. I've had my fair share of substitutions from sellers with bunch'a +feedback of late. Lotta scamsters. Unfortunately that now includes some so called vape retailers. And I don't see the sit improving in the present ambiguous situation. LTBB. Try to stick with my formidable list of reliable sources.
