I'm late to the party but, try that with pain meds and you'll get reported to your doctor and the pharmacy will refuse to fill your prescription. I know, it's happened to me before.
Yes, the "Opioid Crisis" hysteria has gone nuts. They can't stop illegal stuff from being imported which is where the real deaths are coming from so they are going after the low hanging fruit of pain patients.
It's very much the same as what's going on with ecigs, including the profits of BP wanting to sell more expensive and deadly options.
I'm as active commenting on the FDA about that as I am with ecigs. I warn the others to expect the FDA to completely ignore our comments and just enjoy the fact that we get to annoy them by commenting.
I'm curious, what do you all see as the future of the vaping industry? Does it have a built in lifespan? What is the plan once all of the smokers have switched, quit, or died?
Does vaping have a place as a general use consumer product? Can the industry try to attract new customers who have never smoked before?
They haven't managed to end smoking. Non-smokers experience even more harm reduction if they never take up smoking in the first place.
So I don't see it ending completely. But as there are fewer former smokers there will be fewer die hard vapers using it to keep them from smoking. There will always be people smoking as long as there is tobacco.
