Vuse, Mark Ten (although they're not selling it right now due to the flavorings thing) and Blu are the major players for BT in the e cig vape story. Of course juul got that big infusion from Altria for a minority share and no corporate input (like that'll last) so you can put it in whichever catagory you feel it fits.

I'll say BT.
I really found them distasteful for putting that high of nicotine in their pods. At first I gave it/them a pass because I didn't understand what salt nic was. I first saw the disparity between 3/6/12/24mg-freebase vs 50mg-salt and thought there must be some sort of 'translational' thing going on. Then I learned that 50mg-salt was in fact the same amount of active nicotine as 50mg-fb. I then also learned that salt nic was a more addicting type than FB (but has its uses).
... And then my distaste for them was born.

Although I will say the distaste isn't so much for what it actually is.. It's more for introducing such a device/nic-strength/nic-type combo at a time when vaping was already under attack by The Ignorant And The Malevolent™.
If it came out later on, when people hopefully become enlightened enough not to immediately bring out their pitchforks the moment they buy into emotionally-charged BS propaganda all the time (for just about EVERYthing) - then it might not be so bad. Right now though, we have too many ignoramuses leading too many blind ignoramuses. :(

Thing is, about 4 years ago when I started out with Vuse, I believe it was the high 48 mg pod that got me off of cigs so smoothly. Over time and changing to "real" vape gear I'm down to 3-6 mg depending on tank. I doubt at that point a low, or lower, nic would have worked for me. When I first switched to an ego style pen it was still with 24 mg nic. The big deal about high nic pods is their use by non-smokers, only some of whom might become addicted or habituated to the nicotine. For a smoker the whole argument is pointless.

So I sure don't like BT, but I'm not gonna lie, it was their product that got me off cigarettes.

What scares me about BT taking over vaping is that they have a history of playing chemistry with their product to make it more satisfying\addicting\profitable. Who knows what they might put in the juice.

The whole salts thing has been around a long time, it was done with citric acid back in the day, now they use other acids. The salts dont bother me so much except for the secrecy about what acid some folks are using, but what will they put in the juice next, WITHOUT being transparent about it?

I tried some of the salts for diy and didn’t really care for them. I’m going to stick with regular nic. I feel like I have a high tolerance or something. Until the last year I was still using 20-24mg even in sub ohm tanks and have finally after eight years worked my way down to 12mg with my diy mixes. I also use snus regularly throughout the day.

Some people just need more nic than others.

That's why I say I don't have a problem with the Juul in and of itself... Just the timing of bringing a product with with its specific qualities to market --- it was not a Good Time.

But then again, with as puritanical as this country is, it may never be a Good Time until it's outlawed and then legalized again some 80 years later when people come back to their senses.

80 years from now this country will be the UCA (United Corporations of America) were everything will be automated and the people will live primarily in virtual worlds to avoid their poverty stricken lives, only coming out long enough to eat, bio, and buy stuff from the corporations with their handout checks.

I kind of think that the corporations and politicians are like, the male and female of the species, it's like the corporations do what they want (inviting the politicians to the dance) and the politicians like, agree to go, especially since they know that dancing leads to taxes, etc.

Okay, my metaphor sucks but in my opinion every lobbyist on earth should be given the same deal as Socrates: Knock it of and leave, or drink Hemlock.

My work pretty much runs off direct Federal dollars (this was to avoid States like Mississippi siphoning off the money for healthcare for the impoverished black person, and using it for the rich. Something ). But, we also accept most insurances. So, there is the private corporation aspect.

Hmm... I think that makes me a hermaphrodite, and ALSO I work in health dare so I believe that automatically makes me one of Satan's minions.

I will say, my healthcare is AWSEOME benefit and cost wise. I will remember it fondly as I toast down below..,.

Will you still be covered? All the burn treatments would add up fast.

    Oh CRAP!!!!
They are going after our bulk concentrate now!

"There is a clear need to regulate the sale of higher-concentration nicotine solutions in now being sold in larger volumes," (poor grammar is a direct quote)

Juul Success Spurs E-Cig 'Nicotine Arms Race'

They are clearly talking about the latest evolution\popularity of nicotine salts, but you can easily see where bulk concentrate will get thrown out with the bath water......

For the record, I have been using 36mg freebase since I started vaping 6 years ago. I inhaled cigars and I needed\wanted that stronger kick and TH that was more akin to cigars. Its what has kept me tobacco free.

Glad I got a freezer full of 999mg...

I think we knew this would eventually happen and that’s why so many of us stocked up on liters and liters (5 for me) of high mg nicotine.

LOL I read the inferno twice. Once in college. Then I read the Oxford Political triplet political version where you are like, "Dante, this is way more interesting and you HATED POLITICIANS." LOL, I mean he took on POPES and stuff."

Also, it's clear his heart was definitely in hell. I mean Purgatory is just boring and Heaven is like, insipid.

He is definitely toasting down below, and would be an apt, well, if he were alive he could write political vape poetry. Also, while I have written like, love poems not FIVE MILLION stanzas of them. He really had some very blue balls. .

I do not. Nor the husband well SOMETIMES I hope since we spend much time apart, but I'm fairly certain he you know, takes matters into his own hands.

    Anna

I suppose I could too, but please don't make me. LOL

    About that recent article...

Maybe the more articulate & knowledgeable people here could email the "contributing writer": Salynn Boyles, sboyles@comcast.net
If so, please be respectful. Nothing has been set in stone just yet. (Maybe don't mention DIY. ;) )
