George Chapman is a genius. He's stumbled onto the best way to cure all ills of our society:
"Studies show that the best way to discourage teens from using tobacco is a higher cost."

Easy peasy. How easy life must be for those that use such infallible logic.

And higher cost = tax it to death. How convenient!

That won't work as well as he thinks. Just check with someplace like NYC where taxes on traditional cigs are are already at confiscatory levels and the result is that more than half the cigs consumed there brought in "under the radar".

That was the basis of the guy who lost his life tangling with the NYPD. Forget his name. Eric Gardner or something like that.

I read it completely this time, and wow. I mean, who even says this stuff, and really believes in it? Really, George?
"vaping should be significantly discouraged with a large tax, not just 86%."

Who, really, actually thinks that 86% isn't a large tax?
Whether about vaping, or anything else...sometimes, I'm really glad I'm pretty old. Sad, scary stuff.

Tax just went up another 12.5% here last week.

Uh, but that's Australian dollars, right? ;)

So that's only about 27.16 US dollars, and you get 5 more smokes!

Gaah. No wonder they're "blue"! :w00t:
Lol. They can't use descriptive terms like mild here, so they colour code. Only colour on packs is banned, so just written colours

Huh, seems like somebody found at least part of a brain...

Vitamin E now a focus of the investigation into some vaping illnesses

"On Thursday, the New York State Department of Health said lab tests showed extremely high levels of vitamin E acetate in nearly all of the analyzed samples of products that contained (other stuff).

Vitamin E acetate was not found in the nicotine products tested."

Taxes. Gah. I was calling the SSA office to terminate my stuff, sort of for the moment as I have exceeded their back to work limit, THANK GOD, that makes me happy. I will say, after talking to the lady about getting rid of my medicare part B which I also (Thank GOD) can get rid of, well I asked her to change my address.

So she was like, "You have a representative payee" (long story but they deemed me UNFIT to manage my own money due to an earlier thing) and I never got rid of it.

She refused to change my address the husband had to do it. I guess technically like, I was not supposed to fill out my own form with all the money I make, like all ELEVENTY pages of it, so I sort of signed like it could be me OR my husband because frankly.... COME on.

She was like, "You seem perfectly fit to me and you are earning lots of money. I am sorry you will have to come to THIS office, with a doctor's note (and we may require you to see your own doctor) and like, etc., etc. etc. I was like "JESUS."

That's the law though. That is where your taxes are going. And mine. I have to get a doctor's note to change my address and TO CHANGE MY ADDRESS.

Oy. Will be so glad part B is gone. It magically makes it so that if you combine it with REAL health insurance, everything costs MORE. WAY MORE. It is also primary and no one can do ANYTHING about that, except my own doctor's office, which charges me a 5 dollar copay for EVERTHING including labs. Sigh.

Cannot WAIT.

It's sad how people believe the hype that appears in the media and the general conversations of the uninformed public. Repeat it enough and the public accepts it as fact. Few actually do the reading required to verify what they hear.

Nic in the freezer is a safe hedge against a vaping ban. PG and VG are probably safe from the FDA for now. Both have been tagged as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) for use as a food additive.
