Wow I caught up on this whole thread. I refuse to be depressed and scared, I just can't do it. So I will note I had NO idea what Goodwin's law was, and now I do.
Have I mentioned I once owned a VW bug?
Sigh. Politics truly are divisive indeed. It's a rough game .I have an elderly father who lives in Aus, made a METRIC TON of money in the US before retiring "back home" with the trophy wife. IDK, he kept asking me my opinion on things like "global warming." (Dad, I remember you, when I was 5, talking about the upcoming ice age, maybe they will cancel each other out.") "Why don't they get the guns away from the crazy and violent I'm sure there is a way to do it without violating the 4th amendment." ("ARGGHHHHHH!!!!") I finally let him have it. He emailed back he was "deeply hurt" by my words, and "I was insulting me, my wife, all of your siblings." (I had mentioned NONE of them.) He decided, "I need to cut off email contact with you."
I was just like: "Um here are my political views, we differ a bit can we please just talk about nice things?" Anyway I emailed back a kind apology and said perhaps my email was "tactless" and if we did not talk again, I thanked him for being my father, and told him I loved him. What are you going to do?
Whoever invented the slogan "The personal is political" should be taken out and shot. There is a REASON you vote in PRIVATE. But, if you can't hold a reasonable conversation with your (supposedly mature) parent regarding opposing view points I could see a civil war erupt. I'm not kidding, either. Things are getting weird.
Because so many things going on are so deeply tragic, they do need to be addressed, they have never been addressed. I would like to see the homeless population addressed. F

big tobacco. They should fend for THEMSELVES.
I will say, I do believe the rabbit is out of the hat. I do believe that youth will continue to obtain illegal vapes. This is because they are ALREADY illegal to minors now, and they have ZERO problems obtaining them. They do NOT want to smoke.
Big tobacco is finished, pretty much. The last few die hard smoker will die a slow, painful death, but regardless of how well or poorly we fight back, vaping will remain. It is my SINCERE hope that this generation is the generation that will END SMOKING, (That's the slogan from an impossible to find now "TRUTH" commercial, that used to play all the time.)
They will end it with vaping. I rejoice.
