That's cuz you don't like the guy. :)
Where did I say that? lol
I get my info from the same places as you. Deeming was established in 2016. Trump was not president then.
I never referred to the creation of Deeming, I was referring to him using the FDA as a scapegoat when the aftermath of Deeming takes place, even though he appointed the "main dude" in charge of carrying things out.

I think he is referring to the fact that deeming regulations and PMTA started long before Trump even decided to run for president.
Yeah, I think he is confused with what I was saying... I was referring to him using the FDA as a scapegoat when the aftermath of how Deeming is carried out.

IN MY OPINION, all this garbage with vaping and the FDA is a perfect example of government overreach. We all know why it's happening and who's behind it. The bigger question is what is it going to take to shut down these ABC.gov agencies. They are all over stepping their boundaries.

Agreed. And undoing the all of the immense damage they have caused with misinformation and laws/regulations that hurt people's health will be difficult to undo, even over time once they realize they were wrong.

I saw a vaping segment on the news this morning and they still call these recent deaths "vaping related". They make no effort to distinguish between legal and illegal vape products (or perhaps more accurately, between safe and unsafe products).

Mostly agree. (Here we go with opinions again! I'll add mine because I'm not shy)

But "government overreach" isn't what's happening. It's so called "special interests" (of all types) taking over our government. Government is just the tool "they" use to manipulate the system/process/country. And getting rid of it is just as bad has not having control over it by We The People.

If we get rid of it, "they" are the only ones left, and are unregulated. And if we let "them" control it (like now), we're still screwed. We need to take it back and make sure it works for us.

Doing that, however, is another kettle of fish. And a lot of people will be fooled by the propaganda, and "name games" where "vaping" is blamed for the THC crisis. Etc. Etc. Pick your subject, seems like it's nearly all spin and propaganda these days. Even news agencies are "entertainment" organizations now.

Oy.

I'd love to get all the money out of the election process, personally. We're starting to look like a 3rd world country.

even over time once they realize they were wrong.

You are more optimistic than I. I hold little hope that a governmental decision will ever be realized as wrong by those who made the decision. When a decision has "unintended" consequences then the government sets about to fix those consequences ... well, rather than admit a mistake and reverse course, they generally proceed to further mess things up.
In my youth there was a song line, "and the big fool said to push on" ... true then, true now.

Prohibition was one example where the big fools did not push on but, and this is significant, the people had a lot to do with the repeal. The people will eventually get it right, the politicians and prohibitionists af any stripe rarely do.

I saw Trump talking about the vaping changes this morning on TV, he rambled incoherently about protecting the kids and then getting stuff back on the shelves. From other stuff I've seen today it sounds something like a crackdown on flavored pods and let the vape shops go on selling tanks. So far more questions than answers. On-line sales? Flavors for adults in B&M shops? How do they define the difference between tanks and pods? Refillable means tank? Are they aware that a lot of pods are refillable? Have they found out about DIY?

Either they are prevaricating because they haven't locked down the details yet, or the guy who can do sentences and long words hasn't been interviewed yet. Guess we just have to wait a little longer to find out.

The press is (as usual) doing a pisspoor job of explaining things because they themselves have no idea what they are talking about. They cannot tell you the difference between a pod system and an open system because they don't know. Also remember, the language has not yet come out. Sounds like maybe tomorrow. What I can gather is flavors will be banned from pods only (except tobacco and menthol). The stuff that the large majority of us are using on ECF remains untouched. Bottom line, the ramblings of Trump and the press mean nothing until we read the language.

In the end though it doesn't matter. It is all gone in may barring an absolute miracle happening.

So Trump throws us open system users a short lived bone. He got tobacco 21 and bans flavored pods. That makes him look good to uniformed folks as being hard on kid vaping. Win/win for him but we are still screwed in May.

All this does is buy us a couple of months until may.

Yeah. I think I know more about vaping than I do about 99% of the other issues they talk about on the TV, so I can see what a miserable job the politicians and the press are doing explaining it. They rely on us not knowing enough to see through their bull.

And generally they are correct.
