One of the posted links is quite supportive of vaping and it's health effects. The other seems very anti. Did I misread the first? Are you being sarcastic? I think NZ laws are very sensible and reasonable. Am I missing something?

From your link and today's email from VTA:
"FDA explained its priorities in this way: “The FDA’s top priority for premarket review of deemed products remains products that pose the greatest risk for initiation or use by underage persons, such as flavored, cartridge-based e-cigarettes products targeted to or easily accessible to youth.”
More details about the request and what it means here. "
So maybe there's some hope that other devices (used by adult vapers) are not their primary target. I know. Hope springs eternal. Grasping at straws. Insert your favorite cliche here.![]()
That may be the case but I don't think that US vendors can afford to invest in the vape market, based on uncertainties. The FDA may go for the cartridge based ecigs first, but eventually the whole thing is going to come crashing down. There are already vendors closing come this September.

Some sense of sanity in an insane world, that's all we can hope for these days.Oh, I know. I was just hoping for a little reprieve... another delay or whatever. I don't even know what I'm hoping for at this moment.![]()

From the article:
"In order for nicotine vaping products to remain on the market after the FDA’s September 9, 2020 PMTA submission deadline, companies must submit a viable PMTA with the intent of seeking an FDA marketing order. A PMTA must provide scientific data that demonstrates a product is appropriate for the protection of public health."
I still don't know what this means.
Why do vape joints have to do the scientific studies? Is the FDA on vacation? So every vape joint repeats the same thing? They came out with a new twinkie flavor last month. Did they submit their scientific data? And what qualifies as "Scientific"? My nephew made a plaster volcano for his 6th grade science class last year. Does he qualify? And what does "appropriate" mean? It's like it got to be midnight and the regulators who drafted this wanted to go home. What gets me is VG, PG, and food flavorings are already approved by the FDA. And when you vape, you heat them up to cooking temperatures and thus creates vapor. So when you inhale, the vapor gets cooled back into a liquid (condensation) once again. So what's the big deal? What part does the FDA doesn't understand? A 4 old year could grasp the concept.![]()

Because having the studies done is expensive and so the vape joints will be driven out of business. Why do vape joints have to do the scientific studies?
For ingestion, not for inhalation. What gets me is VG, PG, and food flavorings are already approved by the FDA.
For ingestion, not for inhalation.
Tricky devils, ain't they?

We feelz you!You inhale vapor and smells from your foods all of the time. I inhale my coffee vapor for example. Plus did you ever eat/drink and it went down the wrong pipe before? Why aren't Coke, Pepsi, and whatever doesn't have to be tested for going down the wrong pipe? That stuff makes you cough and fizzes.

You damn well know if there is ever a temporary vape ban, it will be permanent.![]()
