Oh, Richard. The irony of it all doesn't escape me. We fought a bloody war with Great Britain because we found a better way to govern ourselves. And now look at us (us and US). ;) Your old-fashioned monarchy we so despised seems to be doing so much better at this governing business. So much more enlightened, tolerant and sensible. How and when did this happen?!?!?!?

There is a lot in this world of ours that doednt make sense anymore. Unfortunately when it comes to vaping, we are fighting another war against the big tobacco and pharmaceutical companies, not forgetting the underhand governments.

Yes, but your regulations are at least somewhat sensible, you open vape shops in hospitals, and your medical establishment is light years ahead of ours.

I blame the Puritans. ;)

I really do hope here in the UK we continue to give merit to the benefits of vaping vs smoking. There is very divided beliefs around the world on this topic and am yet to find any real evidence supporting this. When comparing the two, the two are worlds apart. I for the life of me dont understand the negativity towards vaping.

Real people don't whitewash the truth because they are not prepared. I'm sorry it's a childish behavior, and to call other people "downers" for stating what MAY in fact FINALLY happen...
If you are referring to my "Debbie Downer" post, I had thought it was obvious it was made in jest. Of course I am all for preparation regarding the September deadline. That was my initial reason for joining this forum a couple of months ago. While, I do hope that it won't up being as bad as people fear, I am planning like it will be.

Well, there has been skepticism.

Man I feel really bad for all you vapers who are heading at this NOW (I really do, I had several YEARS to assemble my stash and I was LUCKY that I could do it.

Best of luck to you.

Ugh, that reminds me I gotta get rod of some atomizers that came as kits. Like I have an Ajax tank and a couple boxes of coils and I will use that if hell freezes over. Gotta find the PIF thread..... Will I have TIME though? Argh. I guess I could always do it on the other side. Etc.

Two of them actually. Don't forget the War of 1812, aka the Second War of Independence.
Your old-fashioned monarchy we so despised seems to be doing so much better at this governing business.
When it comes to the issue of vaping, sure. But in many other respects, not so much...

And you have every right to express your opinions--like everyone else in this thread. :D

    Well, there has been skepticism.

So what??? Are you philosophically opposed to skepticism? There's always been skepticism, and hope, and humor. We're all trying to deal with this concerted attack on vaping the best we can. We debate, we stockpile, we fight back, we argue, we speculate. It's been like this from the very beginning. And it's a good thing, if you ask me.

    Well, there has been skepticism.

Back in the old days when I first came here there were several really dedicated sceptics in town. Posting endlessly whenever regulations were mentioned saying nothing would ever happen and we were all just fearmongering. The name Mike or Michael rings a bell. I used to think, boy will I ever dump on you when the hammer finally comes down. He left the forum though.

I did forget. Implicit bias. ;) To me, 1812 is the date of Napoleon's invasion of Russia. :D

Tom Baker? He argued that the Deeming would never, ever happen. And then there was this other fellow--Goodnews? He was bad news...

I am not saying skepticism is a terrible thing. But, personally when I bought my very first NJOY and read the "Vape Everywhere and here is how!!" card I was like, "Oh this sucker's days are NUMBERED society is not going to stand for THIS.

I have vaped openly on a plane a few times. Then, came the day I tried to vape on SW and the (really incredibly bit:censored:y in general stewardess told me I could not, and like I was like "That is totally fine, but would you mind showing me where that information is?" (I was thinking, make it easier for me for other carriers) and I guess she thought I was CHALLENGING her or something because we were on the tarmac a long time and I was playing with my phone and then the announcement came "Turn it off" which I was in the process of doing, like, it took me a moment and I was like, 'Ma'am I am doing it."

Anyway, she summoned the TSA and they all like interviewed me and she was like, "That customer was taking pictures of me and posting on FB." She had some hag next to me signing off on that. Had I known, I would have accidentally tripped and fallen on the old hag getting up to go to the bathroom because I don't play like that, but fortunately God saved me from those aggressive actions.

Anyway I explained to the TSA I did not have a FB account even and if I took a pic of that stewardess my lens would have broken and they were all like, "Oh don't worry we KNOW HER." I was freaking out. It was also humiliating.. As a SW I was ALSO freaked out I was like, "Does this report LIKE MEAN anything for me?" They said no it would molder in some filing cabinet somewhere and I went and got it and read it and it was like, the most inaccurate document ever but also true that it was the narrative of some stewardess with a beef.

I believe the government is going to win. I also do not like to "Fly the Friendly Skies" but Phoenix is a freaking hub as is Tucson.

It totally sucked though. I had NO doubt upon that day.

I have no comment--just sharing. Found it while googling flavor bans...

Because Black lives matter, ban flavored tobacco sales in Chicago
To be sure, Black youth aren’t the only ones getting hooked. Vaping and other tobacco use is soaring among young people across the board — with most saying “fun flavors” are why they started. Black youth are especially likely to start with menthol products.
