That is a misstatement.

The issue was comorbidity, not preexisting conditions. Most all death certificates show comorbidities along with the primary cause of death.

The CDC said 94% of Covid deaths included comorbid factors. A Kansas politician distorted that statement on Facebook and Twitter to further his agenda. Both platforms removed those posts as misleading and potentially harmful.

From the Wichita Eagle yesterday -

We've lost three family members to Covid during this pandemic, two of them otherwise healthy in their 40's. All three have comorbidities on their death certificates.

Changing one word in the CDC statement is misleading and dangerous. Checking the facts and sources is necessary and important.

Now let's get back to the Deeming issue!

Sorry to hear about your loss ..

Well, @440BB it may have been the politician's misstatement but in my case it was mine-- I used the wrong term, because I was aware it was co-morbidities, although I'm not going to delve into the issue further other than to apologize for my misstatement and for your family's losses.

I will not apologize for deeming because frankly I did EVERYTHING I could the whole entire time I smoked to minimize my tax burden until the politicians ferreted it out, such as importing Russian Marlboros (One of the very few times you can say, "Mom, why do the Russians get everything nice?") buying off tribal lands and using tubes tobacco mixes and injector tubes. Even bought BASICS in college. Were it not for the FREQUENCY and intensity of my tax burden I might have paid more in vape sales tax. Really.

Teen vaping was very big in all the small towns around here way before "save the kids" was even an agenda. They liked smok & clouds then; nowadays it's more about pods.
Exactly, it went from 0 nic clouds bro clouds to maximum nic juuling.

    A disproportionate burden

Amanda Wheeler, the owner of five Jvapes vape shops in Arizona, Colorado, and Oklahoma, explained the situation this way: "Let's say I have 100 products and each of the flavors has five nicotine levels, which means five SKUs per flavor, legal and other fees will cost my stores in excess of $5.5 billion. There's not a small business owner in the United States who can afford $5.5 billion for SKU applications."

That would be $11,000,000 per PMTA
    According to the article:

Although the FDA estimates a single PMTA costs anywhere from $117,000 to $466,000, those figures are considered low by the industry. The Rocky Mountain Smoke-Free Association estimates a single PMTA costs between $8.6 million and $11.1 million per stock keeping unit (SKU).

I believe this will explain how expensive this is. The process and costs are sickening. :(

Thanks for this Bill. At 17:48> Dimitri points out…

"…very important here to understand that this bill
    the tobacco control act…
makes no provisions that ban the
import of the banned items for personal
consumption only for sale or distribution."

The reference regulated items, I believe, would have been a more appropriate description of the subject banned items, i.e. regulated vaping [tobacco] products.

    Reaffirming assertions I've made earlier.

    Good luck. :)

p.s. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
