KEEP THE POLITICS OUT OF THIS THREAD.

GOT IT ?

(FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME !)
Sure - But how can you completely eliminate politics when there appears to be a poitical agenda in play ?

Would you agree that it is not real science driving all the controls, regulations, and bans being imposed on vaping?

So bias over money and control has to be influencing.

Why not start a new section and call it
"the politics of vaping" ???

Let us debate the political issues - Should be interesting.

There is one and only one sub forum for political discussions. That's Outside. It does not belong elsewhere on ECF. You've been told this numerous times.

Yes, it's hard to keep politics out of vaping, but the test is this - ask yourself...

Is this directly related to the topic of the thread?

If the answer is no, then it should be left out of the thread.

Example: You want to post something about "fake news" or election fraud. These subjects are not directly related to deeming regs.

And to that one forum you prohibit entry. I have been banned from the 'Outside'. I find that rather ludicrous having read the general level of what passes for 'discussion' there.

Makes sense to me, clearly stated.

I think you will Find that if you Stay within the Confines of a Thread's Topic, and are Making some Informative Contribution to the thread, that the ECF understands that Politics can not sometimes be Completely Removed from the some Discussion.

It's when Threads are use as Soapboxes or Megaphones to Expound one's political views that you tend to get a Nastygram from the Mods.

Go back and Read what UnkleJunkle wrote. It is Right on the Money.

There are a lot of people out there that are more addicted to the action of smoking than they are the nicotine. If they don't find out that the nicotine level is lower it probably won't modify their behavior.

However what I'm not too sure about is one of the taxes upon cigarettes is based upon absorption rate of the nicotine. Now I don't know whether absorption rate is directly correlated with available nicotine or if there's something else at play but I wonder if that's going to modify the taxes. If the absorption rate is directly correlated to the level of nicotine available in the overall product then they're going to have to modify the taxes on it which I'm sure they won't do.

"aiming to push millions of smokers to either quit or switch to less harmful alternatives such as nicotine gums, lozenges or e-cigarettes."

How can they switch to e-cigs, when they just made them practically obsolete? And NOW they think they're less harmful? Actually I think it'll make people switch to rolling their own cigarettes.

I agree. Even rolling your own is easier than vaping and much less expensive than buying disposables and store juice.. Plus it's still familiar.

I guess they'll just have to increase taxes on RYO again.
