No, if you cut the wick you end up with thousands of strands everywhere, but
I did suggest blue foam or old-carto filler material a few posts ago.

Yeah you would need some extra silica wick...cutting the existing wick wouldnt be good. I have two different types from MSC Industrial Supplies...one is from a silica sleeve that has long continuous fibers...and the other if from silica rope strands that is a short , cotton like fiber that would work great for that. Sorry v1..been in and out so I missed your post. Silicone putty might work too...it may be easier for them to make two tabs dropping down into the gaps on the plug around the ceramic cup...dunno!

Banjo: How is the regular silicon ring in replacement of the filler ring doing? Leaking yet?

So far it's working perfectly, as long as I keep the carto upright. If it lays on it's side any length of time I usually get a little bit of juice in the 'ol air tube.

when i used the original design revision 1, it had no lekaing issue, those had no slits, some where real good becuase there was enough room for the wick but it did not leak and those used the same type of innerplug.

so maybe no new special innerplug is needed and they just need to close the slits but leave the right amount of room for the wick to go into the cup.

I mentioned this about a month ago. The design difficulty with these is the wicking. As everyone is finding out, there is a very fine line between insufficient wicking and leaking. Unfortunately, as I speculated before, this line seems to be much finer than the difference between thick and thin juice (i.e. PG and VG). I believe that if you had everything sized so it worked perfectly with YOUR juice it would be dry for someone else and leaking for yet another person. Maybe an adjustable cap for the cup?

I'm having similar issues as everyone else with the new XL (haven't tried the shorter ones yet). With the filler ring all the way seated I get a dry sometimes burnt vape every time. If I pull the seal up some to alleviate pressure on the wick it starts to leak when on it's side. In examining the seal and the cup, the seal when fully seated goes over the wick where it enters the cup. It appears to be just enough to slow the wicking down to almost nothing. If I pull it up slightly it wicks better, but then leaks everywhere. I even tried thinning my juice down so it would work better, but that just made the burnt taste worse. It'll be thick but I'm going to try eliminating the water from my VG mix entirely and see what it does.

You could try notching out the filler cap so it doesn't touch the wick...

Fine tuning it might be super tricky just like you said and there is only so many things i can think of to fix it, i can find a problem but fixing it isnt my speciality.lol
At what point is it good enough though, if the leaks and primer are gone will it be acceptable that some will wick better and others wont since that most likely will be a impossible task as you say.
Ill be happy with it once the main leaks are gone and the primer is gone but im sure others might still experience the splatter issue of juice falling form the wick, they do know about this and said they will try to find a solution for that as well, take that for what its worth and dont hold me to it but thats what they said.

What do you suggest quick, have any ideas on what might solve it, is a different plug something that might help.

Nav just curious have you tried ditching the filler ring altogether and just pushing the flat side of the middle ring up against the cup? You might get a little juice in the air-tube if it's laid on its' side, but you shouldn't have any external leaks with it. Give it a try if you haven't yet.

When I say leak I mean it leaks into the air tube and down to my battery. I've only had one leak out of the carto and that's because of a bad press fit of the battery adapter into the tube.

Someone give me a quick bullet list of wicking-issue fixes. You all post too much too quick! Lol
my opinion is that there was only one wicking issue, and that was fixed ages ago, in the originla plastic r2 that they made afer the 16th of the month, where the coil loops were made almost twice the size.

So I was told that they would not replace my e2 v1's with new ones (15 of them) or one v-go battery that was DOA. They said I would have to ship them back to get replacements. I understand that some people scam to get goods, but I order from them a lot and they know the v1's were hit or miss even with modding. I don't really mind just giving them up, but it seems like poor customer service to me.
