The FDA considers NRTs to be pharmaceutical products. E-cigarettes are not made of tobacco and contain no tobacco. Is an energy drink that contains caffeine considered coffee?

So if you are asked if you use tobacco you could truthfully say, "I used to, but now I use a nicotine inhaler. It helped me stop smoking and it keeps me from relapsing."

The arguments in the first paragraph are reasonable logically, but beside the point since the FSPTCA contains a definition of tobacco product that includes "derived from" tobacco.

The whole point of this discussion thread is that we want to fight against the FDA regulating e-cigs as a tobacco product because we can't trust them to write reasonable regulations. Instead of being concerned about our health, FDA seems more concerned with trying to put tobacco companies out of business.
In my comments to the government, I mentioned that e cigs were not a tobacco product as well. I like your thinking Madam. :)

I personally would like to see about 30 Threads going on of all kinds of “Larger Issue” Topics.

Sometimes I get Discourage when there are Page after Page of Vamo Threads. Or a Dozen threads about whether a Provari is worth the Money.

And there are only a Handful of threads like this which talk about what is coming, Not May Come, Coming down the Road for All Vapers.

But I guess that Many don’t think things are going to Change. And that e-Cigarettes will just be as it is now Forever.

1) agree
2) it is
3) your right
4) And yes they do!
just makes me crazy too...

I have to disagree. The FDA is being lead by Big Pharma and Big Tobacco... and to some extent the idiots in the House and senate. All of those groups want the same thing....to take the e-cig industry out of being a cottage buisness and hand that cash over to BP/BT, and our dipsticks in washington to tax as they please. Heaven forbid the greedy .......s in washington not have thier hand on our wallets.

Its about one thing and one thing only.... who gets the money $$$$$

Same thing happend years ago with the Pirate Radio movement trying to be legalized by the FCC. The big blowtorch radio station owners fought tooth and nail and won. All we wanted was a legal avenue to start up small radio stations (community radio that would brocast in less than a 10 mile radius). But the deep pockets won.

Good idea ...
However, Hollywood celebs risk future film roles if they oppose
the views of the government, agencies, and the Mainstream Media
not to speak of opposing the views of BP.
:?:

That might be true, but unless someone stands up with some sort of power may it be celebrity or not, our message is not going to be heard. I'm sure Blu would love to see their products placed in movies and shows. Ad placement is huge in the TV/Film industry.

I understand your thoughts but we need a few public figures to stand up and show that ecigs aren't the enemy. The general public isn't here with us reading our posts.

I'm not to sure about that. Seems more like they want to keep the revolving cash cow merry go round' well greased...

Smoke, then try to quit using FDA approved NRT's-start smoking again because the NRT's don't work-Try to quit again, etc, etc,...

Why hasn't our government put Big Tobacco out of business by now? Shut them down, lock stock and barrel. Cigarettes are killing people, isn't that enough? I want a answer to that very simple question without "politics" being used as an excuse.

I hang out upstairs in the other forum topics. I started a thread a couple of days ago in reference to all of these juice companies expanding their business. Whether or not it is a good idea in the current climate of the e cig industry. I was surprised that many people dont think the e cig industry is in trouble. I enjoy being an e-cig enthusiast but I also see the big picture. We are in trouble!! This is why I have been down here lurking around where it matters. Most people upstairs dont understand whats going on. We need to get into the heads of our other members and gain support.

Many of us share that opinion, the problem is we don't seem to be able to get it across to the mass of the membership. New ideas are always welcome ;)

We need to be advocates for e-cigs every single time we step out in public. We need to share our own experiences with smokers, exsmokers, nonsmokers, etc. Our family, friends, coworkers whether they vape, smoke, used to smoke, or have never smoked are the ones who need to become an army of citizens who will not allow bans to pass. Smokers are outnumbered in the U.S., vapers have even less numbers, we NEED to get people outside the community involved and make them aware of what's happening if we have any chance in thwarting antivaping laws.

10,018 is the current count of signatures needed. We have 2 weeks to have a small voice. Here are a few things I have done and a few things I'd like to seen done here to help get awareness out.

DONE:
1) Posted a link on Facebook and asked my friends and family to sign the petition - they all know my vaping history and certainly support my efforts - I hope it is the same for you.

2) I took it another step by texting people to go to my FB and sign the petition - just as a secondary measure to fortify the fact I really find this important and that they should as well.

3) I have told many people that show any interest in my PV how it has changed my life - and direct them to the petition site and ask them to sign - sometimes you have to ask for the business, if you know what I mean.

LIKE TO SEE:
1) Since people come here for vaping info I think it should be mandatory that people sign the petition before proceeding to any part of the forum - I know that would be tough on the webmaster though. But, if there is no vaping allowed then there is no forum.

2) I am in Oklahoma City - there are about 20 brick & mortar locations here - they should come up with $100 each and post ads in the paper, online or TV with an appropriate message to bring awareness - this message must be thought through as to not allow any loop holes in the message that can be turned around on the industry. A niche publication / radio station may be the best for awareness but online would be the easiest transition to get directly to the petition.

3) These stores could also offer a discount or a free something to sign up right there in the store as they most likely have an internet connection for their POS.

4) Everyone donate right now a $25 - $100 or more contribution to either this forum or the CASAA and in return get a national ad campaign going ASAP to raise awareness to the general public. TV, Radio or Online - Bill would surely know the best message to send out. Problem with that is the cost - $100k for 2 weeks in radio at the least - maybe a more targeted audience would be cheaper but hopefully most of the vapers have already signed up... Just a thought

Anyone else wanna chime in on this?

I'm ready to make my donation!

I agree with all of those.

There are people that don't want to provide the government with their information.
Agree with that or not, it would not be fair to try and force them to do so.

If every vendor notified their customers of this petition, I am sure we would get 25,000 signatures in just a few days.
This is the only thing that really needs to be done, and in my opinion anything else would just be overkill.

I would NEVER discourage anyone from donating to CASAA!!
:)

I don't want to discourage anyone from signing the petition either, because it IS important.
But when it comes to using their scarce resources, I would like CASAA to hold off until we see the deeming regulations.

Our true battle, the one that really matters the most, may very well be coming soon.
And I fully expect the entire vaping community to mobilize as never before when that time comes.

I agree - It would be better to have the CASAA come in after the gloves come off vs. during the name calling/pushing, shoving.

I only wish I had a better understanding of what our "True Battle" will consist of...

Forcing people to sign a Petition kinda Invalidates the Petition. Makes it the View of the ECF and not the Views of the People.

That and it is Against the Law to do so.
