Yes!!!! I just retrieved my order from the mailbox - ordered fluxomizers and a box of vortex's! The Vortex ROCKS!! I am in L.O.V.E. Filled one...let it sit for a min (which was torture) and popped it on my pass-thru and BAM! Made me cough the hit was so awesome....lol. I've got a cloud of vapor goin on over here :D I luv the design - it's completely perfect. Just popped it on a 808xl Man...well it rocks on it also and nearly as much vape...taste is fabulous. Say hello to my new lil friend...I'm still sitting at my desk working and well now..work doesnt suck as bad as it did 30 mins ago! I'm totally impressed and the only downside is...I only ordered ONE pack....

Ok I guess it's time to compare notes with somebody. I got mine today and haven't had time to do a decent vape test. I kinda got stalled out at the ohms check. I ordered 1 pack of standard 2.4Ω along with 1 pack of the HV (advertised as 3.5Ω). All cartos have clear center tubes and were sealed.

Readings were so all over the place that at first I thought my meter was acting up. I checked my battery and test measured enough existing cartos to make me feel confident the meter was accurate.

The standard 2.4Ω Vortex 5-pack came in at 1.7Ω, 1.9Ω, 2.0Ω, 2.3Ω & 2.8Ω.
The HV 5-pack measured 3.0Ω, 3.1Ω, 3.5Ω, 4.0Ω & a whopping 4.4Ω.

I at least triple-checked these and the results came out the same each time. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to vape-test these considering the wide range of ohm readings. I have a VV box so I should be able to get some use out of them, but I'm a bit disappointed at the quality control (to say the least). In GV's defense there's no way to meter these before they ship because they're sealed at the factory.

Somebody else throw a meter on theirs and let me know what you find.

I hate to be the bug at the party. But I am having no luck with mine. I metered em and they all come out at over 4.0 ohms. I use a maxi roughstack v2. I have both the 5 and 6 volt battery setups. The ones I got will not fire at 3.7 v at all (and I didn't expect them to) and performance with the roughstack is marginal. My problem is that the juice heats up and is drawn up thru the center tube. I can feel the hot juice splattering in my mouth. Trust me that sucks. I metered my 5 and 6 v setup and they are right at 5.124 and 6.022. What is really interesting is that my usb passthru meters at 5.09v and works better. I still get a little juice but vapor production is better. Please don't let all them numbers fool anyone into thinking I am electronically smart. I was proud to figure out how to get a consistent read on the ohms. My frustration is that everyone else seems to be having a blast and I am not. I've only opened two and would appreciate anyones advice.

OTOH I am happy to say that my vision deux is doing well at 3.7 smoketip batteries with a 501/808 adapter even though it metered at 4.) ohms. The only issue seems to be that whole dry/raw thing if I draw too long or hard. And, it seems to consistently wick best when it's half or less full. Over half and you want to take one or two good hits and then let it rest. At 5 / 6 v, it apparently dries the wick way too fast.

This is new tech and I am not afraid to spend money or try modding but I am sure waiting for that one setup that works straight out of the box every time. That's about the only good thing I can say about the Marlboros I gave up.

All of mine look like that, more or less. I just figured it was sloppy glue work. Whatever it is it doesn't seem to affect wicking.

Ok, So I've been plagued with my Vortex(es) giving me pretty much non stop dry hits after the first few puffs on a new carto, even on an eGo.

Looking at my cartos as compared to the pics on the GV site, I'm beginning to wonder if mine might be "special". See the pic below, but it looks like the glue they are using has gotten into the wick. Do all vortex 2's have glue in that space right under the wicks? Or is the glue supposed to be further down on the metal part where it contacts the tube?

Maybe I'll try out the 3 I haven't used yet in hopes that at least one of them still wicks correctly. It gives a new purpose to the 808 auto batts I have laying around :)

The ones I have look like that too. Since they all look like that I figured it was the way they are suppose to be.

I am glad you brough this up - many of mine look like this. I found 2 vortex without noticeable glue out of the 3 packs I bought...so I had 2 out of 15 that worked very well for me (without leakage or the dry burnt taste)

Ok, so I opened one that was giving me harsh burnt taste and this is what I found.

2011-08-28103431.jpg

I've filled and let it sit for over 5 mins before vaping this.
The filler material inside looks burnt and I think it may be the reason for the burn taste.
I guess it was sitting too close to the coil.
I confirmed it with another which was giving same burnt taste.
I'm currently on a third one which works like a dream and am too afraid to take it apart and mess it up.
:(

I have found that with thicker juice you need to pop the cap off every now and then to equalize the air pressure to keep it wicking. I don't know if anyone else has had an issue with harsh dry hits but it seems to be an issue with negative air pressure and thick juice. This bodes well for not leaking as it means the juice isn't flowing too freely.

I did run strait PG through also and it did not leak either. However It seemed to vape through a tank real fast. I guess that Is why I was getting good thick clouds of vapor.

One mistake I made was testing these out with a new juice that I have never tried before so some of my taste issues I can't specifically attribute to the vortex. Waiting for some of my all day vape to come in to test.

I am real glad the first two I opened are working good because I though I had ordered some more carto's but realized I never did so these are all I have right now to vape on =]

I have a question. Is anyone else having problems with these not vaping on a pass through? I bought the 2.4 ohm Vortex 2"s. They work just fine on my 808's which is @ 4v right now, but when I connect them to my pass through, absolutely nothing. And yes, they are making good contacts with the center posts. I realize the usb is 5v, but my other lower ohm cartos work just fine on all my batteries and pass through. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Fubie

I have read somewhere that if the Vortex is not working on a device you need to move the pin out a bit.

I've raised the center posts, both on the Vortex and pass through. At this point, the posts were contacting each other, before I could screw the vortex on. As I screwed it on, I was trying it to no avail. So I am certain the posts are touching. I've even cleaned the contacts. This happens with all of the cartos I've ordered. Really has me dumbfounded.

Sounds like there is something wrong with your passthrough. If it has a native 901 connection you could try screwing in a 901-510 adapter and then use a 510-901 adapter. If it has a native 510 connection and you are using a 510-901 adapter the adapter could be defective. If that doesn't work there is something wrong with your passthrough.

oh, if its the indulgence you need to attempt the indulgence mod i came up with and posted about a while back

take off your indulgence adapter, and using a screwdriver on the backside of the pin of the connector, you tap it out by hitting the screwdrivers base at top acting like a nail, or you can use a nail and a hammer as well , this will push the pin the 808 connector of the indulgence out a tad to make more contact then you would normally have

I have a pretty big write about about the indulgence, i used to hand out at eastmall daily and wrote a huge review and had many tips for it.

Hi Badkolo,
Not really sure what it is. My son purchased the travelers kit, which comes with a notebook adapter pass through, from V2cigs for my birthday. I was able to get the post to raise up on the pass, and also the Vortex. They were making contact before I could even screw the Vortex on. That's what really has me going right now. I like the Vortex's and they work great on the exact same style batteries, kr808. I'm hooked on vaping now and have been considering buying a kit from somewhere else with bigger batteries, ie. 510's or something similar. As I said, I do like the Vortex design very much except that now I'm able to really see how quickly I'm going through e-juice...lol.
