Urlacher was originally John's dog. John is a lifelong Chicago Bears fan who does NOT change his loyalties with his zipcode. ( :p ) Somewhere between Wives, John gave Urlacher to me. Everyone says that it's my dog now. Mamaw even refers to him as my "shadow".

And John is your son?

My mom said it was 10 deg with a 0 wind chill when she got up this morning. So it got a little colder than they thought it seems. The roads are much better today. I saw a video of a guy here who was going up a hill in a car, he made it. It wasn't a huge hill. Next came an 18 wheeler. You guessed it, he started sliding back down, and hit a traffic light and hit electric lines. I still have not left the house. I'm not driving out there in this mess. I've driven in snow with a little black ice before. Straight ice is another matter, I'm not doing that unless I absolutely have to.

I did watch two decent movies. 47 Meters Below, and Milada.

In my defense your the first person I've ever heard mention pizza in connection to chicago. .. pizza is normally connected to new york... now if I ever see new york I will definitely try some pizza places while there...

However, as I have no desire to ever visit new york, that will likely never happen. ..

Step Son I raised from age 6. I tend to call him mine.

Step sons are sons too - I have a tendency to just call my stepson my son, but I occasionally worry that's a bit like lying so I periodically try to clarify. He's the same as my son to me though and i treat them both (my son and my stepson) the same. ..

I didn't raise him though as he was 18 when I married his dad..

Never heard of deep dish pizza, huh? A Chicago invention. But all the pizza whether deep or thin is as good as it gets including NY.

Is that the General's Estate, or the Guard House at the front of the Driveway ?
It's where the cat lives. :)

New York and New Jersey both have great pizza!! Never tried Chicago pizza. I've never been to Chicago though.
Some of them franchised out. Uno's, Rosati's, Lou Malnati's, others. Nancy's franchised out too and we're getting one here soon. Can't wait!

The flu has been really bad here. I just read a school district northeast of Dallas is shutting down for a week because of it. That is a good idea. Maybe it will help the spread, and they can disinfect the classrooms and buses etc... So far I've been lucky, and I hope I don't get it. I did some coughing last night and this morning. I think that was from the electric heat, which has been running too much. It dries out your nasal passages.

Hey BK, Kkay, all you others getting weird sub-freezing cold snaps: Don't forget to leave a faucet running at all times (just a thin line, but more than mere dripping), or your pipes will freeze and burst.

That's a giant mess NOONE wants to have to deal with!
