Cartoon. Three orphan little girls melt a villain's heart. Then in 2, he falls in love. Then in 3, he finds his long lost brother.
The hilarious slapstick comedy is provided by his henchmen. Over a hundred of them, all two feet tall and yellow, and phonetically challenged. The Minions.

I like the Minions movie best of all !

Well darn I took one of the capacitors off the speaker board. It's been leaking so I'm sure it's bad and the other one may be as well. But I can't seem to locate a match for it. Well if I don't find one I could buy a couple used speakers on ebay for about $60. Or buy a new set of speakers I found that look exactly like the ones I have with a different name for about $200. Or just say the heck with it and disconnect the other back speaker and recalibrate for 5.1 instead of 7.1. With my hearing I'd likely not notice the difference.

whats the numbers on the cap??? and yes, if it was leaking, its shot... its most likely an electrolytic cap ( has a + and - polarity) rated for about 60VDC and about 2-3K uF ( for bass improvement/punch) or it could be a smaller cap that will filter out the hi end from the bass speaker... all depends on where its placed in the circuit... let me know what the numbers are and Ill check my stock and see if I have several layin around... ( Ive got over 5000 caps of different values in storage)

any self respecting mad scientist always has a good stock of caps around ;)

With Bonus Girl around you probably don't feel so outnumbered, eh?

I didn't ever feel outnumbered with only men in the house, but yes it is nice to have a female opinion under my roof. And she's good to help out whenever I ask.. right then.. not when she gets around to it. The boys--not so much!

It's the polarity that's giving me trouble. The caps don't have the line on them.. The smaller cap looks okay so I'll put it back on. I think it's for the tweeter which was working. I did find a 22uf cap on a board I haven't got around to getting rid of yet. It's close enough to the same size but is 400v. If the little I've learned about these things is right it would work if I put it in correctly. (he lettering on the small one was down and the big one was up.)

hmm... could be a non polar electrolytic you have there... but when in a pinch, a polar can be used and IIRC placement shouldnt matter... its in an AC circuit and will either keep the phase ok or shift it 180 degrees only a true audiophile could maybe tell the difference

the volts being at 400 wont matter... ( in fact it will be better.. it wont die as quickly) the important part is the uF and minimum working volts ( in your case 100) from looking at the picture, it looks like a crossover circuit ( bandwidth filter)

Dining room is complete. New chairs, that actually are sold with the table we purchased 5 years ago, have arrived. We were using IKEA chairs that we brought with us from Philly. They really sat too low (too much cushion and you sank down when you sat) and made you feel like you were a kid at the grownup table.

It takes time to get things the way you finally want them. Now the chairs match our island chairs and the barstool chairs.

Yeah, I like things matching. For me it works better in an open concept house.

Saturday the last guest bedroom gets decked out. Daybed with trundle and bookcase. Son will be coming with family in March. Now they will all have beds. :D

I have a basic rule about electronics - buy another.
That's a good rule for some things. Others not. I replaced a capacitor in my upstairs AC for $12 about three years ago. It 's still working. Beats replacing it for $6,500. Replaced the capacitor in my downstairs AC for $15 a year ago. Beats the hell out of a new AC/furnace. I'm replacing worn outlets in my house. Outlets are free (left over from contractor). Beats the hell out of buying a new house. 50/50 if I'd mess with David's speaker. If not too much of a pain I'd do it otherwise I figger if one goes, others are not far behind and I'd look for a good speaker set on Ebay. There are all kinds of deals on there for some great speakers. If the toaster goes, get another one. :(
