Neighbor got two kitten. They had two dogs too. A pit and a boxer/bulldog mix. One of them killed one of the kittens. The other one grew up and clawed the hell out of both of the dogs leaving them a bloody face. They steered clear ever since.

Never heard of them. I know you do your homework. What made these stand out to you?

Just looked like a good all weather tire that wasn't priced too high. Made for SUVs and light trucks. These days tire brands are all over the place. Plus it was one they were likely to have in store. I couldn't see paying $130 plus per tire. Thought about just getting a highway tire but the S10 is light so traction on wet roads is something I think about. Must be years of driving and seeing so many people off the road from hydroplaning. I hope it wares as good as my last set.

The best tires I've had are Michelins. By far. They are pricey to be sure but I get lots of miles on them. Have Yokohama's on the Jeep now. Not at all happy with those. Only got them because they were out of the Michelins I wanted.

Same here on the Michelins. I had the Michelin LTX M/S on my 4Runners for lots and lots of miles. I would get 75,000 - 80,000 miles on a set of them.

When I bought my F150, it came with Badyears and I'm not happy with them. They are just about worn out, so I will soon have the "privilege" of paying about $200 per tire for a set of the Michelins.

windoze 10 is weird... it decided to remove Firefox and my news server software on its own accord.... I started up windoze and both the icons were gone, went and did a search for the programs and they were gone too, did a registry check and it had over 200 broken links to those 2 missing programs...... had to redownload and install both... :mad:o_O

Good Morning Army. Michelins are great, but they also make B.F. Goodrich. Back in the late nineties, Michelin bought BF and retooled their factories to meet Michelin specs.
Of course, by now they might be bought and divided by foreign investors ...
Time to get ready for a three day run to Mass. Fueled, hooked and strapped Friday afternoon so all I need is coffee and get goin'.

Have a Safe and Blessed Sunday :nun:

Better check your defrag settings , the last update turned that crap back on . If I could meet the SOB at MS responsible for that , I'd use my cane for something besides walking . Anyone need a soprano ?

Ditto Pap. My truck came with badyears and I dont think I got 40K out of them. I have Michelin LTXs and they are fantastic. 2nd set of Michelins and I believe I got 70,000 plus out of the first ones. Falls in the category of "you get what you pay for".

What bugs me is these tire companies inflate their claims. They'll guarantee say 60K miles knowing youll get only 40K. Yess, they will pro-rate your guarantee but then you have to buy another set of THEIR tires. It's their way of getting customers for life by forcing people to buy their crap if they want their guarantees. Most dont so its a win win for them to falsify their warranties.

When my current laptop dies then it will be replaced with a laptop designed for Linux. If I was still fully employed then I would not wait for the demise of my current laptop.

It was four years ago we lost our friend, Bobby Ivie (aka, bivie). I think of you often Bobby. You were as gentle and gracious on the inside as you were side splittingly funny on the outside. I miss you Bobby. But we know you're in heaven and as fine as frog hair. Rest in peace Friend and enjoy playing your favorite riffs with Alvin Lee.

    Good morning, Army :)

We had Rick's mom over last night, a sleepover, since we were doing a wine tasting type thing. It was fun. She and I watched Singing in the Rain out on the lanai while Rick was inside with the AC last night. Good times!

Time to get something done...or not. It is Sunday ;)

Maybe I'll just make the bed...

I just noticed a very subtle hint from the very lovely and oh so subtle Mrs CMD of tasks that she would appreciate my doing. It is a note discretely attached to the range hood.

I have had 3 sets of B.F. Goodrich tires in the past. I loved them. The first two sets were better than the last set though. Last time I got tires I had to get some cheapo tires, that I don't like. Even they are getting older now, but they are gonna have to do. I had some Cooper tires a long time ago that were good. I don't know if they are now. Kelly-Springfield/Goodyear used to be good. I also don't know if they are good now. Now I see a bunch of tire brands I can't even pronounce. I have no idea where they come from, or how good they are.

Bronze, Sears Die-Hard batteries are the same as the tire warranty. I used to have excellent luck with them. The last two batteries I got before this one didn't make it to the projected time. I told them if this one goes out early, it will be the last one I ever buy from that brand. I had to pay partial cost, which I thought was a load of horse manure. But I am breaking that trend if this battery dies early. I may get a gel battery next, IF I can afford it at that time.

You don't need a laptop " designed " for linux , any laptop designed for Windoze will run linux , with the exception of some Lenovo laptops , Lenovo and MS did some shady crap with the bios of what they called Windows enterprise laptops preventing people from installing linux by removing access to the hard drive settings in the bios . It backfired on the SOB's when it was discovered you couldn't reinstall Windows either . Other than those , any laptop will do . Some companies are ripping people off by selling laptops that are designed for linux , actually they're charging you money for installing a free operating system on a regular laptop . Some of the Linux distros do sell laptops with their version pre-installed , usually nice systems but pricey . I've been running Linux for several years now and I just set BK up with a dual boot system as well . You can always shoot me a PM if you need some advice about setting up a Linux system .
