True. You leave the door open?
No. If I did that my garage would look like a zoo. Birds, squirrels, snakes, lizards, neighbor's cats, etc.. Had a roommate years ago who left his bedroom window open. Got home one day and there were a dozen cats in his room lounging around.True. You leave the door open?
I was working in the garage and the door was open.So how did the bird get in?
The garage door had been open. Not sure when the birds got started. I saw them the first time after the door had been open a few hours. The door stayed open for a few more hours while I was working in there. Obviously I cannot keep the door open 24/7 so the birds had to go. They better find another apartment quick cuz I suspect momma is ready to lose her eggs. Based on what I saw, they can build a nest pretty quick.Ah ha then. I thought the bird was in the garage when you went in.............
Yep. Theyd never make it in my garage. They usually build nests in my house plants that I hang outside in the Spring. Guess that was too much like camping for them and they opted for hotel living this time around.Too bad you had to kick them out but I'm sure they'll make do.
And how would they survive with the door closed? I'm not bringing them worms too. I have my limits.
Another bird story...
Robin (our lovely threadmember, not the bird) inspired me to do some organizing in the garage. I go out there and there's a bluebird hopping around on top of a pushbroom I have hanging upside down against the wall. He's runnin' his beak letting me know he's not happy. I regularly get birds in the garage who get stuck and are too stupid to figure how to get out. Usually it's the hummingbirds. I ignore him. They eventually find their way out. I'm coming and going. A couple hours go by and I notice he's gone. Then suddenly he reappears. This time with a piece of bark in his chops. Then mommy shows up right behind him with a piece of pine straw in her beak. They weren't stuck at all. They knew exactly what they were doing. These two feathered freeloaders were building a nest in my broom. Pretty nervy if you ask me. So I took the broom down (the nest was nearly done) and chased them out. They perched on a nearby tree giving me some more beak. Too bad. Scram! You belong outside! Bastiches.
