Prepping to go see DH.. got the Libby app for audio books through the library. I'm too frugal to pay for Audible. Downloaded 2 and have 6 on hold. I love to read but rarely take the time to do it. Maybe this will get me 'reading' again.
We are having grilled steaks for Thanksgiving, voted unanimously by all. I am making some pecan pie cheesecake squares, so that's close to traditional Thanksgiving food..

I'd love to have steaks for Thanksgiving, but we are having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, cornbread dressing, cranberry salad, green bean casserole, candied yams, etc. Oh, and funeral salad.

The funeral salad? It's not really a salad. It's Cool Whip with dry jello mix (usually lime) along with cottage cheese, pineapple and pecans all stirred into it.
We call it funeral salad because every pot luck dinner I've been to at a church following a funeral, someone has brought that stuff. My wife loves it. Me, not so much. Cool Whip gives me heartburn.
easy solution... dont use spinach or let "someone else" make the salad...
add sesame or poppy seeds next time

My last batch of chicken masala was so incredible, I think I will try to duplicate it for Thanksgiving. Anything but roast turkey. Even grilled cheese would be higher on my list for a good feast.
