In today's toothcare segment:
My Sonicare arrived today. The hygienist gave me three options to consider. I took Option 2 (Sonicare Flexcare Platinum)...the middle priced one. $120 is enough. I wasn't gonna pay twice that for additional bells and whistles that have nothing to do with cleaning my mouth. I have to charge it 24 hours before I can use it. Did a ton of research on replacement brush heads. Didn't like the idea of spending $15 per replacement for the Sonicare brand. I found there are tons of generic brands and many of those got excellent reviews. As good as or even better than Sonicare replacements. Prices range from 80 cents per to $5 per. Oddly, the 80 cent ones got the best reviews (price probably factored into that). So that's what I got (Oliver James brand off Amazon - 20 pack). Most said they experienced nothing different with these vs Sonicare brand replacements. Good enuf for me! I compared them and I see little difference. Usage will ultimately determine that.
Oral-B actually gets slightly better marks for effectiveness (though they are close) but the Oral-B is loud. Sounds like a boat motor. And they say it feels like a jackhammer. I don't think so. Don't need any lip from a toothbrush.
