Papaw, I know this is frustrating for you and Mamaw. You want her well enough to be home, it is not good if they have to go back. Make very sure you get her some good probiotics and fermented products too. (try Kombucha, we were talking about that recently) Gut health is so important, with antibiotics killing good bacteria too.

Curious what you decided. You’re pretty young, right? I would have said HSA. I have one and a minimal policy from work and it’s worked out really well.

went with the ppo option. didn't really know which one's better although I tended towards HSA; but then found out that everyone except two of my colleagues went for PPO.
Tbh I find both to be a bad deal - difference of premiums for "high deductible" (with HSA) and PPO was 150$. PPO has a ~4500 deductible but covers "some" regular stuff like office visits and copay on other stuff. "HSA" had ~6500 with of course nothing covered until you meet deductible. Thought maybe putting the difference in the HSA and hope for the best would be a good idea, but then I decided to go with the flow.

Dunno if it was a smart decision but for now it is what is

I like how you think! I always found it kind of hilarious that soon after our TVs and stereos became remote-controlled and we’d no longer had to get up... we started paying for gym memberships to get some exercise. We humans are weird. ;)
And then after we got remote controls we started bellyaching at having to press too many buttons.

How are things going for you and your mom? I’m guessing you’re keeping pretty busy.

Back to letting the kid get a truck.. sort of. He can make payments with his tax refund until he gets out of school in May.
Car dealerships suck. They came down a whopping 500 on the price of the truck. Jeez. I wasn't born yesterday. I bet they call tomorrow.
He's looking at older models so financing is a pain with the local bank too. They'll do 24 months, he needs 48. Online lenders look shady.. Lots of bad reviews. My credit is dang near perfect, you'd think banks would be more accommodating.. Le sigh..:(
