I babysat my grandsons, so that was my authentic love session. They wore me down to a nub, but I loved seeing them. I had my daughter bring some books out so I could read to the babies. They weren't super interested in the books, but that will change I hope. I used to read to my kids every day when they were young. My daughter especially loved books when she was about the age the twins are now. So when I want the twins to wind down a little, I will pull the books out.
On a rainy day, my kids would pile up on my bed and I would read to them for a long time. Then we would all take a good long nap. My kids wouldn't go to sleep without at least 3 bedtime stories. Yes, they would drag out bedtime as long as possible, but they still loved the stories. I know both of my kids remember this, and I bet they will do the same for their kids too.
