I'm sorry.. I'm still praying. .
Thanks. I’m honestly a big baby and probably a Drs least favorite kind of patient. I need to work slowly and methodically thru things and clearly understand what other options are etc... and the side effects and all that other stuff. And don’t just tell me what the path report says, I’ll be by to pick up a copy. Im polite about it, but you have to be your own advocate!

So far the care team seems very attentive, at my appointment yesterday, the surgeon had already sent over her potential care plan along with what needed to be done at that visit, so I feel like I’m in good hands.

With my doctors any tests that are done are accessible via a patient portal, where we can see the results and analysis of them in writing. It gives you a chance to look everything up and gives you a better idea of why the doctor says certain things or what certain phrases actually mean..

It's good to know.

:)

May not be what Drs. prefer, but you’re doing great to be so thorough and methodical. Especially because you know a lot more about healthcare than most. And we get scared, but we find courage. I know you have many times in your life! We are all here for you, praying for you, and standing ready to listen and be strong with you. And lots of shoulders to cry on if and whenever you need that. :)

I have been spending my day indulging in the periodic chocolate..

I think on your part, you might want to mention nutritional programming on a day that isn't national chocolate day.. hahaha
You mean you wouldn’t rather have beets?

I agree 100% with that.

I'm the same way with our lawyers. Don't tell me what the contract says. I can read. I want to know what your advice is. I may ignore it, but I want to know your opinion.

And now that you’ve said that, there’s a feline heading your way who’s going to claim you as her human. Congratulations! :thumb:

About 3 or 4 years ago, my wife and I spent Labor Day over at our son's house. As we were leaving, we saw someone's chocolate lab and my wife said "It's been a long time since a stray dog came up to our house."

Well, lo and behold, when we pulled in our driveway 30 minutes later, there's a stray dog roaming our neighborhood. And, of course, we took her in and kept her for a couple of months and eventually found her a home.

Mine are in the portal too but for some reason the pathology report was not loading in a timely fashion. So grateful they make information so accessible these days. I took photos of my ECG’s, showed them to my Dr friends at work where they helped my decide not to take any meds yet. I knew I didn’t want to so I just gathered more information to see if anyone could sway me the other direction :)

I seriously almost lost it during that MRI. My thoughts went to very dark places. Not fun at all. Other than that I’ve been very calm.

And thank you for being so sweet and caring. I appreciate it

April, my dad was the strongest person I ever knew. I've seen him get his head split wide open from being kicked in the head by a cow, and he just kept going. I never knew him to be afraid of anything. . . except when he had to go in the MRI tube one time. It was all he could do to hold it together.

MRI's can be very panic inducing... I'm claustrophobic anyway so I really hate having to get them..

same for me on the MRI tube. I made it through with a towel over my face but it was hard.

Pigs for us always went to freezer camp. Kids had a hard time with it when they were younger but eventually looked at it as 'no chores' for 4-5 months, lol. I'm so glad we are done with that stuff tho.

@kkay59 one of my boys loved to be read to, and the other just wanted down to play. But they both remember story time every night and loved it.

Today I experienced true kindness from a stranger. I was making a right onto a busy street in Tulsa, looking over my left shoulder for oncoming traffic.. bumped the car in front of me. I sat there frozen! The lady got out and checked her car, no mark. She got back in, but followed me to my first stop. I asked if her car was ok.. she said yes, but you did not react at all.. I told her I'd never done that before and my heart was still pounding.. She was so sweet, asked to pray with me and did so.. Hugged me and left!

There you have it! Somehow they sense what’s been said and and they find us. How sweet that you took her in!
