How do you define "advanced vaping"?

At first glance PawPaw I thought it was that Johnny Depp was playing in a space movie.

Ok, pun intended here. Modern keyboards and touch screen "advanced" settings have a feature called off for auto spell. I remind my colleagues when they say "I'm going to come buy your house and drink some bear". lol

We all want a little more than we'll ever have. It's the American Way. I felt the same way about guitars as I do about vape mods. There's always one more new model coming out and it just taps you on the shoulder metaphorically until you go out and buy it.

Ain't that a birtch. It's a break in the matrix or a tune you just can't get out of your head…we all seem to succumb sooner or later. Shinyitis strikes like a crack of thunder and knocks us out of our comfortable chair.

Good luck. :)

"I do not recall that."

Admittedly overused, but I do clearly do not care.:laugh:

The really cool kids have little red screw drivers as well as blue ones.

I've heard a rumor that these ubiquitous little blue buggers are available for purchase from fasttech, for those who want to buy their way into the advanced vapers club.
Can’t say I’ve ever received a red one! Am I missing out?:D

The reason I started this thread was because I had made a comment in another thread and used the word "advanced" in describing going from a MTL low wattage low resistance starter setup to "advancing" to a DTL high wattage sub-ohm setup, and was called out for saying that such a setup was "advanced". This was that comment:

"A lot of folks started out with beginner mouth-to-lung, low wattage, high ohm starter kits (cigalikes, ego's, kayfun-style rebuildable tanks) and never advanced up to direct lung, high wattage, sub-ohm setups.

Then you have beginners whose first vape device was a direct lung, high wattage, sub-ohm setup and they can't handle it and wonder why? They have chosen the wrong type of setup to begin vaping with, because they didn't understand the differences between vape setups.
Calling in all Vaporesso Luxe users. Please help

Everyone has their own preferences in what works for them. There is no "best way" to vape. This is why there is such a wide variety of products on the market."
So in reflection, using the word "advanced" was probably the wrong word to use in that context. In my mind (probably an "old school" mindset, which I have), anything other than a very basic, old school starter setup (cigalike, pod mod, ego setup, cartomizer) was "advanced". So I was curious what everyone else thought.
Since I'm the one you asked you something to the effect of, "Why do you consider switching from low-power MTL to high-power DL an advance?" I guess I should chime in:

Whether one is an "advanced vaper" has nothing to do with the vaping style. There are plenty of MTL tootle puffers who are, IMO, advanced vapers.

To me an "advanced vaper" is someone who can make and wick their own coils, and can make their own juice. That doesn't mean they necessarily choose to do this all the time. I understand that some people who can build just fine don't wish to be bothered with it, or were never able to re-create their favorite vendor juice, but they have the skills to do so should those skills ever be needed.

An "advanced vaper" is one who is at practically no risk from whatever the FDA might do, provided they have (or can get) some nicotine.

I've never built, and don't even have but one RTA to try it on. But I feel plenty insulated from regulatory authorities. For one thing, I have about 500 cartos, and lots of tanks. With care, an advanced vaper can make a carto last a month or more. I've chosen two of the most common coil heads, the Nautilus BVC and Kanger OCC, both of which I love, and lots of parts for Subtanks/Toptanks Minis/Nanos and Kabukis. You can get excellent Kabuki clones from Fasttech for $10.

Due largely to my years of building guitars, I have a knack for finding remnants and such, and even know some liquidators in that area. So I find a good deal on 100 OCC coils, I go for it. I am probably closing in on a lifetime supply of those as well.

Finding a great vape, then hoarding cheap stuff that will insulate that vape from both the manufacturers and the government--maybe that's a type of advancement?

I was thinking. Cartos these days are for advanced vapers only. They're not plug 'n play, they take careful setup and judicious use, or else you end up with a burned taste that never goes away.

Learn how to use 'em right, and you can easily make one last a month. They make big, but not terribly dense, clouds. They really enhance flavor, as well.

But they're for advanced vapers only.

Everyone on the shinyitis thread is frantically googling as I type this. LOL.

[emoji4]So what brands include red or clear screwdrivers? Not that that would be my sole reason for purchasing, just curious
I don't remember honestly. Those are from the older rta/rda. Then there was a slew that came with the tri-tool, plus a few had the nice longer screwdrivers. Also have a few that come with our urns here at work.

Urns require maintenance? The things I learn here . . .
