Well, vaping of course! This is actually my fourth quit...once "cold" turkey (it was more like luke warm), once with snus and the time before this with Chantix.

For me, it was after I finally got into a decent kit. I started playing with it just to check it out, no intention or goal in mind of quitting really. That night, I finished off all my smokes and haven't bought a pack since. I messed around with cigalikes for about a month before that, but didn't really get any traction with it.

That's the way it works for some people...but not everyone. Everyone should go at their own pace.

Well... the first time it took a couple of weeks of vaping and smoking and I eventually just stopped smoking as the vaping was all I wanted. In fact when I ran out of carts I was upset and not wanting to smoke and anxious for the mail. But then I got stuck on a trip and went back to smoking. I'm back again and going the same thing again. I tell people it's not an all or none thing. It's a migration. I'm still smoking some and decreasing everyday. I was a 2+ pack a day (PAD) smoker and I'm now down to less than a pack a day and decreasing everyday.

It's different for everyone. Don't judge yourself or make yourself feel bad if you still smoke. It's a process of finding the right hardware and finding the right juice and nic level that works for you. Once you do thing will just progress naturally where you vape more than you smoke and eventually you won't smoke and you'll just vape. Let the process happen naturally and don't put the "I'm quitting" pressure on yourself it doesn't help.

Welcome to the forum and take it day to day. If you're personal goal is to quit then keep it in mind and when you want to smoke maybe vape a bit more. Don't punish/guilt yourself for when you do have a cig. It's a process... as I say A Migration.

only took 27 years to quit. Picked up my first vape gear 9 months ago and haven't lit up a smoke since.

Rats!:) You stole my line, except it took me 45 years! A little over a month ago I got my ego and some juice, put down the cigarettes and picked up the ego. I am stunned and amazed at how easy and painless this has been. And fun, too.

P.S. In all those years, I had never tried to quit before. The only time I didn't smoke was when I was sleeping.

About 6 months after I started vaping. I didn't buy an ecig with the intent of quitting, only to use it as a supplement for times where smoking wasn't possible, or at least was really inconvenient. Sort of half hearted used them until I found a setup and flavor that I liked. After that, I just started preferring the ecig to tobacco, and eventually just quit smoking because it no longer satisfied me.

I'm 35, been smoking since I was 15-16. I've been wanting to quit for a while. just couldn't do it. Cold turkey just wasn't gonna happen, and Chantix isn't covered under my INS, so I did some research and bought an ego last week to see how it was. I got my kit on Saturday, got some juice sunday, and haven't had a cig since I filled my tank for the first time. I LOVE it!! I still get my nicotine, but don't get all the BS that comes with smoking cigs. I didn't expect it to be so easy, but I couldn't be happier. Once my wife seen how easy of a time I've been having. she went out and got one too and hasn't had a cig in a week either!

Was a smoker since i was 13 (31now) and tried quitting several times. I did the patch, gum, lozenges, Blu e-cigs and even chantix (boy did that mess me up) and finally on Christmas I quit while on the patch. 2 days later I felt like I wasnt going to make it and my lovely wife went out and bought me an EgoC 650mah starter kit at a local head shop with 15ml of juice and its been all good since. Love it and have absolutely no intention of picking up regular smoking.

The first time I tried vaping I had a cigalike kit and terrible juice, tried for a couple of days and gave up. About 6 months later I decided to try again, with an ego kit and I found some juice that I really liked. Took me a week to quit smoking. Every time I wanted to smoke I vaped. If I still really wanted that smoke I would have it, didn't take long before I preferred to vape. Finding juices that I liked and could vape all day made the biggest difference.

I did carry a couple of smokes around with me for a month before I threw them out. At first the thought of going to work and not having a couple with me made me anxious.

Good luck!

I stopped the first day and haven't looked back. I'll have 5years in June. But I have friends who still sneak a real one now and then. I think it is often related to the type of satisfaction you get. For me, the hand to mouth, the sucking and the taste are the most important. I never did inhale down into my lungs. So I adapted easily to the ecigs. For me, its a flavored pacifier. Everyone is different.

You'll find a common theme among those of use who didn't quit with the first vape.

It usually takes finding the right ecig and the right flavor. Once we do, we PREFER the vaping to cigarettes.

It's the quest to find the right ecig and flavor that's the hard part. Once you do though, you won't have to worry about quitting cigarettes, it will just happen. Until then, don't beat yourself up over the occasional cigarette. Not everyone sets them down with their first ecig, and there's nothing wrong if you don't. Everyone is different, do what works best for you.

I'm glad I could be of help.

I sit and watch the forum too much hoping I can help someone, anyone to get away from smoking. I've been off and on smoking for a long time. It's a hard thing to quit and a hard process. Some are able to just pick up an ecig and bam they quit. I'm not one of them, I wish I was. Others well we take a while longer. I still smoke just not as much and that's ok. It's a process. It takes time to find the gear that works for you and especially the juice that you really like and keeps you going to the juice and not to smoke.

Don't stress. Relax. If you really want a smoke then go smoke. But think about your vape and how much better it tastes.

I've been gone for a long time but I'm back. Again, welcome to the forum and if you need help/support someone to complain to this forum is a great place to do it as we have all been there.
