He actually read your 1st post & agreed. He's a former smoker, so I think he understands. He's even telling me to spend whatever I want to spend, etc..

Good. My wife is very understanding of my spending and that's a good thing. It is a process. Unfortunately there's no magic bullet of this device and this tank and this juice works for everyone. It really is a trial and error process. Which is why most of us have several devices, several tanks and lots of juice that we either vape, give away or throw away. It is a process but it's not a hopeless process.

A buddy of mine dips and smokes. About a PAD and a fair amount of dip. He comes over and tries my stuff and drinks beer. I am working on him (no pressure).

It is good to hear that it can decrease dipping. That is good.

Take a dip every now and then but stay on the vapor. If you love it, do it on special occasions. Don't be a quitter. We are talking about harm reduction.

You have come a long way.

Lol, it does decrease dipping, you're keeping your mouth busy. I seem to chain vape though, which i'm thinking about reducing... The nic in the dip was just so intense that I built up a pretty big tolerance to the stuff. I vape at .6 to 1.2 at the moment which is pretty low. I just miss the body buzz of copenhagen and grizz. I'd rather not dip again because the first wad i'd throw in, i'd probably be right back on it. Now, I just need to reduce the amount of alcohol I consume on the weekends and I should be set.

I did all the standard stuff patch gum Chantix cold turkey. Then years ago tried smoke everywhere .... waste of money. Went back to smoking again. The newer better ecigs hit the market. Bought another cigalike kit. Its was much better but my mind set was to just cut back on analogs. I had given up on quitting but I thought if I could cut it in half that would be good enough. It was a ego and a t3 with proper nic lvl and finally was able to stop entirely. Never thought I would see a day without analogs. After 35 years of smoking well probably more like 34 years with brief intermissions here and there i'm done with cigarettes. ouch

I am not sure if you can quote yourself. That has to be against the rules. Or perhaps we need more rules? It does look like smoke to me.

Let's leave those decisions to the mods as we focus on the subject at hand. I'll take my vacation if I need, but there is no need for her to feel discouraged because the first days went a bit rough.

I have thanked God every one of the last 30 days that I was able to put down the stinkies and pick up the vape. Even if it was Blu, it worked. I knew I was a confirmed nonsmoker (after 20 years and 2 PAD) the following morning when I woke up and did not NEED to vape OR smoke. Amazing!!!

I'm still quiting. I've been vaping for a little over a month and when I first started I quit cold turkey for two weeks, no problems. Then I ran out of juice and the cravings hit. I managed another day and then bought of pack of smokes. At the time I didn't have a local B&M. Since then I haven't been able to quit again.

The worst for me is when I have my morning coffee. This morning I must've chain vaped for an hour to quell the beast within. I had my last stinky yesterday and so far I'm doing good. Keep your fingers crossed, tomorrow will bring a new morning and a fresh pot of coffee.

Quit jerking yourself around and vape until you don't want a cigarette. Crimminy. Are you trying to drive yourself crazy?

Aim to stop smoking this century or this decade. Make it easy on yourself.

Vape until you are happy and satisfied. Then try to get it all under control. Piece of cake.

My day 3 sucked. That is how I tell the story.

When you got up back in the day, did you then start smoking cigarettes? Like 3 or 5 or 8? If that is what it takes in the morning, do it.

Don't try to switch and reduce at the same time. Switch and then reduce.

I first tried quitting with an ecig back in about 2008. I bought a Blu that had little cartridges, no flavors, looked like an actual cigarette. You had to drawl on it to get it to fire. No buttons! It was terrible, and I didn't last 2 days with it. Around 2012 a B&M had gotten some attention from people at work and then there was an explosion of ecigs at work. After my experience with Blu, I was apprehnsive. I went down the store and got a ego starter kit (paid $100!). I lasted about a week, but right back to smoking. Last October my wife's cousin told me about his friend with new kits from some company called Kanger that I had never heard of. It was only $40 so I got one. Quit the night I picked up the Kanger Evod kit, and gave my pack of cigs away to a co-worker the next day. Such an improvement over the Ego that I spent 2 1/2 times the money on the year before.

The problem with this method is that every time you smoke a stinky you put yourself through the withdrawals of all the other chemicals, and every time you get over it you reintroduce them.

For me I found I would be smoking a stinky and found myself drawn to the vape instead of the stinky. So while the stinky burnt away in the ashtray I was vamping and I realized I was done then. Keep both close by and see which you are really drawn towards. It gets ridiculous once you realize what you are doing.

Edit the 1st 2 days from getting over the stinks sucks, big headaches and wierd feeling all around, but once you get past that it's too easy to leave them in the rear view.

I remember the days when the EGO came out and I paid a fortune for it. LOL.... It was and still is a decent battery system and I still use my old ego batteries. In fact I bought a new ego kit just to get a charger for my old batteries and they still work :)

There is no Bad system. There is what works for you. Everyone talks about their gear and their tanks and their rebuilds and blah blah blah. What works for you is what works. Some of us are gear geeks and tinkers and some aren't. If something isn't working for you then think about what it is. Is it the air draw, too light too tight want more power/vape.

All of us are here to be a community and try to help but really there is no real answer to any question because everything is so subjective to individual preference.

Anything less than 30mg/ml and I would want a cig. Now 6 weeks into it, I don't crave for cigs anymore and I don't vape as much as when I first started.

Currently vaping 34mg/ml DIY juice, just 5 to 10 puffs and I'm good for hours...Very rough vape but that's what worked for me.

Started at 18 (10 days) then 24 (1 week) then 18 (1 week) then 6mg (about 1 week) then 2mg (less than a week) then 24 (1 week) and now vaping 34 and I'm glad I tried.

Also remember that 20 puffs is roughly 1 cig, but with a vaporizer it feels like you are puffing constantly to hit that 20 puffs in 5 mins.

Vaping is slower and the nicotine is delivered differently. The reason cigs use all those chemicals is to make sure you get the nic in the blood the second you inhale it, with ecigs there is a delay, so you have to anticipate puffing until your body gets regulated. If you are nicking out, you are too late with ecigs.

You could get home at the end of the day and feel like you were puffing all day, but in the end if you had 500 puffs (excessive) that is only 25 cigs but without the other crap.

It will feel like you puff more, but if you break it down by 20 puffs it's actually the same or similar most of the time. Just you rely on it more at first and that will subside also.
