I'm here, when I'm here
How long? About 45 feet. That's about how far it was from my truck to the door of the vape shop.

How did I do it? Prorated my last pack of smokes smoking my last one in the parking lot of the vape store and flicked the ..... I know... <<LITTER BUG!! Haven't looked back except, 2 weeks after I started vaping, I took 2 drags off a cig and let me tell ya. It was like smoking moldy, burnt wood that was buried in a cow pasture for 10 years. Never again...

Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

I am still trying. People think I should just be able to quit because I only smoke 3 cigs a day. It's no easier. I also wasn't impressed with the flavor/feeling enough...until yesterday when I got my CLS, H1N1 and Creme Brulee. Oh YUM! This may do the trick. I am ever hopeful anyway. Also, using a carto/tank for the first time, I actually like the process of filling the carto, then waiting an hour for it to settle, then filling it some more... ;)

The last cigarette I had was driving home from the B&M. Opened the box, hooked up the charger, filled the clearo, took off and haven't looked back. Still got a couple packs laying around, but haven't got into them in 2 weeks.

I think the place I used to buy my smokes has put my picture on a milk carton...MISSING !!! Have you seen this guy ???

The day I started vaping I had one cig a day for the last couple of days till my pack ran out... the cool part for me was I noticed it didn't feel like I needed it. That was just about a month ago. The only thing that is difficult for me is not going outside for a cig before i go to bed. Otherwise, I don't miss it at all. In fact I went to a Super Bowl party where I had a few beers and others were smoking and I never once even thought I'd like a cig. That never happened all the times I tried quitting with nic gum or cold turkey or chantix or ........

Vaping has been the easiest way I've ever quit smoking and also the most satisfying.

Good luck
Mike

I quit because I was at a Halloween party last October and someone had a Blu. I thought it tasted amazing, so I decided to give them a try.

First I got a Blu Disposable, then a gas station V2 Kit, then Ego's and whatnot, and I'm currently using a nemesis & kayfun clone. After I got the V2 Kit, I never went back.

I love vaping, and it doesn't even feel like I had to "quit" something. The transition was enjoyable to say the least.

A few months ago my aunt exposed me to vaping and I tinkered with it a little by buying a disposable but didn't "try" to quit smoking. Then at the end of the year I decided to "try" by switching to vaping. That really only took me a week. I had 3 packs of cigartettes left when I starting buying all kinds of disposables and then rechargeable and then a mod. It took me a week to finish those packs by leaving them in my car and only smoking sparingly while keeping the ecig on me and when they were gone I was done. It's been a month now and I'm not struggling at all, I'm actually already repulsed by cigarettes. I now like vaping better and I don't see any way that I go back to smoking.

It took me zero to quit smoking. I woke up one morning, went to 7-11 and bought an NJoy and haven't had any tobacco since. Of course I was sick a the time, I am someone who never gets sick, and a terrible cough which I thought was lung cancer. Probably just the flu or something but I absolutely wanted to quit, which might have helped. :)

This is my second attempt, though I don't think of it as "attempt" this time. After almost three years I'm back on this great forum. Had recalled how nice it was once upon a time and ordered an EVOD. Man, did technology step forward! Forget about atomizers and blue foam, just fill in the bugger and vape :) Haven't smoked for ten days, taste buds starting to recover etc. - that's the story, so far.

I've lost track of the multitude of methods I have used to try and quit smoking. I have tried everything from the standards (gum, patch, cold turkey) to participating in clinical trials of several smoking cessation drugs and methods. None of them worked. One study actually provided low nicotine cigarettes! They were horrible! by the end of the study I had a plastic bag of about 700 cigarettes that I just threw out. If that was the only cigarette available I would have had no problem quitting! I think they were mostly sawdust.

The only thing that has worked for me is vaping. I truly have no desire or need to smoke a cigarette again. Vaping pushes all of the right buttons needed to completely replace the "cigarette experience" and, I actually enjoy it. Not that I did not enjoy cigarettes. It was just that every drag I took was accompanied with a feeling of "I really should not be doing this". Not so with vaping!

I picked up smoking when I was 16. That was 10 years ago. I regret ever allowing myself to succumb to peer pressure, and taking my first drag. I tried quitting time and time again. The closest I have ever gotten was when I got my first ecig. It was a blu, I was a newb then and had no idea what a good set up was. I quit for 2 months then was right back at it.

Back in August I wanted to give quitting a shot again. I did some research and ordered a kanger mini II and a small 650mah evod battery. I was amazed at how much it felt like the real thing (blu absolutely does not!). A month in without a cigarette I decided to upgrade to a vv battery. Then added a kanger protank to the mix. Now its February, and I just got a lavatube 2.5 for my protank III.

I can smell and taste things I haven't in 10 years! Its amazing and I honestly dont know if I could have stuck with it for as long without my vapor.

Just about 3 weeks.

After I started vaping and saw that my cig use dropped considerably right way, I soon decided I could and would make the switch to just vaping. It seems to me that the decision to switch is key.

I vaped every time I wanted a puff and also made sure the cig usage was declining. Sometimes I would vape and vape and still have a cig for "dessert" and couldn't even finish it. Finally I faced vaping at some of the toughest times (like first thing in the morning with coffee) and was amazed that I could do it -- and not have that "dessert" cig.

After that, I finished off a pack -- and refused to open another. And, there was withdrawal and all sorts of things "calling me" to open another pack. I just kept studying and reading the experiences of other's, found some liquid I could actually tolerate for more than 10 minutes and was well on my way to staying cig free.

Quite some time later I realized I actually preferred vaping and was actually tasting the nuances of the liquid and found it quite enjoyable.

I smoked for 40+ years. Out running around with my son one day and he had stopped to buy a pack. He came out of the store huffing mad, ranting that they had raised the prices again! He told me that a guy at his work vaped on a new type of ecig and we decided to go check out the store. My son bought a setup and quit right then and there. We went home and hubs and I played around with our sons new zmax. I decided to go get one for myself but hubs wasn't having any part of it. I did and messed around with it off and on for nearly 2 months.
Hubs lost his job. Smoked 3 packs that day and I had a fit! There was no way we could afford that!
I ran down to local shop and got him a ego kit.
He wouldn't touch it.
I started vaping most of the time.
He wouldn't touch it.
I had him taste this juice then that.
He found one he kinda liked. Touched it "a little".
I made it obvious that I was counting the smokes he had in a day. I wasn't kidding here, we couldn't afford it!
We quit smoking in the house. Hubs was proud that he had only smoked 10 that day. Then a few days later 5. then he hadn't had any all day. That had NEVER happened. Next day I quit. period and he and I haven't had one since.
It has been a learning curve for sure. He hates my juice and I hate his! He uses mec mods and I have two ProVaris.
I felt like hammered hell for almost two weeks after. On symptom of withdrawal followed by another. Hubs had none.
He never intended to quit, Loved his smokes. Now he loves his mods. He may not need more but wants them. He is back to work and if he wants new toys I don't hesitate to encourage him to get them. I am happy with my setup.
I say, long story short...
If it works, run with it. Everyone is different, What worked for me is NOT what worked for Hubs.
I will add that I have 5 sons. Four smoked. We all quit. One started again after a night of drinking. Yea, we are working on him to quit again.

I tried and ego 1000, an Evic, Zmax, Vamo, Ended with ProVari. I should sell the others but I hold onto them in case one of the boys needs one.:D

Now that is one helluva story. Congratulations to you & your family, hope your son comes around to joining the party.:toast:

Well, I had 6 cigs today. They're starting to taste funny.

That is great news and it is progress, the more you vape and the less you smoke the worse they will taste. When you find yourself with a lit smoke in one hand and a battery in your mouth from the other you will know you are done. It is a matter of time if you keep it up.

Quitting all tobacco leaf forms of nicotine became was easy when use was mainly just habit rather than the need to feel the 'light headed' feeling which went away after nearly 5 years of continuous use.

What makes me keep to vaping is the fact you can build the thing, now I've rolled my own cigarettes before but you aren't really left with anything to show after you use one as apposed to a vaporizer.

20+ years of a pack+ a day, a year of vaping. I'm 90% cig free but I still can't seem to shake it completely. I'm smoking a cig or 2 a day and vaping for the rest of the time.

I've had a couple of bouts of allergies or colds that vaping seemed to aggravate so I smoked, although still only about 1/2 a pack a day with no vaping at all, for a day or 2.

I have gone a week or so, maybe a few times over the last year with no smokes but that isn't my norm. I do usually still always have a pack around but when I run out I'm cool going a few days before buying more.
