I am curious if others have stockpiled in case the government shows up and says everybody out of the pool. I recently purchased some RTS base liquid, just to put in the freezer for the event that they either start to tax it heavily or worse ban it all together. I am planning on also gradually getting a stock of extra batteries and fluxomizers built up as well as some tobacco bases. I have a pretty good bead on how long nic will last but can anyone give some input on how long a tobacco flavor or absolute will stay good?

Yeah, I don't really think you need to worry that much. Don't really think the government cares enough to spend the money to enforce bans even if they pass them. Even if they do there will still be supplies available. You're pretty gangster, you should know that. :)

I don't think they'd outright ban it. A significant tax is more likely. I have enough nic to last around 2 years.

I too am preparing. I do not think it will be banned outright. I worry about face to face sales regulation. I live out in the sticks and it would be very hard for me to acquire my supplies this way. I am not running around saying the sky is falling but in my deep freezer, next to the fish caught this summer and my garden goodies, there are bottles of nic.

I dare say that's kinda where most of us are at. What's happening in Canada will likely not happen here, but they can try to price us out. Who knows though? Without getting overly political, with the government in general the way it is now (both sides) the worst could happen. But I doubt it...

I don't know if I would get too comfortable on thinking there will be no ban .. if testing has any degree of health hazard indicated, a ban could very well happen .. as well, heavy burdon requirements for sellers / makers can act much like a ban, especially is there is a requirement for "FDA Approval" ..

Oh jeez.

I remember this fear a year ago. The big bad brother is gonna come take our vaping toys away!
I DOUBT they will ban them, and it'll take forever before they start "taxing" them it's more like regulation but anyways...

I still have several years worth of attys and liquid saved up. Not to mention almost two years of DIY supplies. At the rate I'm going a 306 is lasting me MONTHS so I think 50 of them will be good for awhile ;)

Have a Mechanical ecig just incase, and plenty of atties and DIY supplies and you should be good.
Something like the Bulli A2 would be a grand idea if you're really paranoid about things... lol:facepalm:

I hate to say it, but I spent a long enough time in the scientific world to know that there does NOT have to be even the slightest bit of hazard present to enact such foolishness. If it works politically, and there's money to be had, then they'll find a way or make something up. Gone are the days of true scientific proof and empirical evidence. If it brings money to the table and is "politically correct," then they'll consider it a worthwhile endeavor and find a way to "prove" their stance.

When the lab I worked for was hired by the government to be a part of an analysis of the effects of 2nd hand smoke, our data suggested that the toxins in the 2nd hand smoke were well below what is considered to be "safe" limits in rooms with adequate airflow and size for persons of average build and health. We were not even suggesting that the 2nd hand smoke was safe for everyone. Upon disposition of said findings, we were summarily terminated from the study.

Yes I have and it was an expensive dumb idea.

I have bought a bunch of DIY supplies, but not because I'm stockpiling. I'm in Canada, so we aren't legally allowed to buy tickets to enter the pool (though we can buy swimming gear without issue, to extend the metaphor beyond its usefulness.)

But I am glad I did so. I know I've got enough supplies to last me a good long time so I'm not particularly worried about anything at the moment. We're still going to fight to legalize and regulate the E-cig industry of course, nothing has changed there. But at least I don't have to worry about juice for quite some time. :)

I didn't mean to stockpile stuff, it just kinda happened. I think I'm a bit of a hoarder. :) I love to try new stuff as it comes out and keep enough of the stuff I love around so that I never run out unexpectedly. I collected a Reo mini, Infinity and a Sabor-touch mini as well as many Egos, Rivas and a wonderful Foxy box mod along the way. Each mod seems to have a different atty or carto type that it works best with. I won a Scubagen atty from Dan (Thanks Dan! :) ) at Vapestock. I need to switch flavors a lot so I have about 100 different juices around. Started DIY so have a ton of flavorings and a bunch of Nic in my freezer. Although I don't think the vapepocalypse will ever happen, I am certainly prepared if it does. :)
