Last time I bought tobacco, about 2 months ago, the cheapest generics were about $4.65 a pack, and name brands were in the $6.50 to $8 range.

Heading to Nottingham, U.K., next week. Bringing my vape gear with me. My wife will probably go 'round the pub' for some rolling tobacco that just sort of found its way there, maybe without benefit of the tax man. It will still cost her what she calls "silly money".

In a thread nearby we are discussing how much we save by vaping vs. Smoking (as if!). I saw one price of $70 per carton, as well as $5-$6 per pack noted.

My Marlboro Silver 100s were generally $5.50 a pack but a few places around $4.90. I live near St. Louis. Just a year or two ago they slapped another $1 tax on each pack...that's when it really started to hurt! In 1987/88 when I started smoking a pack was $1.25. Sigh.

Anyway...how much are smokes where you live? I am curious.

they were 75 CENTS a pack in 1979 when I started,,,,,,,,

right now, in FL, where the prices are better than other places,,,,,,they are running 6.00 a pack. A carton is about 55-60 bucks.

I'm so glad I vape,,,,,,,I think I paid for my daughter's wedding this past June with what I saved not smoking for the year prior.

Same here in South Florida (Palm Beach / Broward) although some brands can be $7-$8 a pack. Marlboro usually has $1 off packs or $2 off 2 pack (must buy 2) on their different menthols, which is what I smoked. Last time I bought 2 packs with the $2 off promo it came to just over $10.

It feels so great to walk into the gas station or drug store and just look at the packs without buying any.

The last pack I bought cost $10.21.
At a pack a day that's $71.47 per week. Some weeks it would be a tad more depending on lunar cycles, visits from mother-in law, etc etc . :) That works out to $3726.65 per year. That is enough to pay my property taxes AND Car and house Insurances. I have been vaping since Aug 1st,not smoking analogs, but somehow have not seen a dime in savings.
