I don't think about it twice....then again, I am not a shy person at all - very extroverted. The way I see it, maybe smokers will ask questions and want to quit analogs too. I am more than willing to share. I've had three of the smokers at work as for info and one has started vaping. Look at it as your chance to help other smokers quit.

I will be purchasing my first kit this weekend and the prospect of smoking in public excites me. It is cool to be riding the curl of a new wave. The only hassles I forsee are from business personnel who think you are smoking a real cigarette in their smoke-free establishment. It could lead to complications when they first see you. Also I am kind of shy in bars and I forsee my Ecigarette to be a great conversation starter. If things get too hectic I like the idea from a poster above about handing out cards.

I vaped from day one at work. About half the smokers heard of it or know a little about it. One particular coworker asks me everyday what flavor I have b/c it smells so good. The other half need explanations and it was fun the first few times, now its getting annoying. I also gave a bunch of info to someone who was interested in getting his own. Not sure if he did b/c he quit and works somewhere else. I think the price was the main factor of him being unsure.

I still smoke analogs when I go to bars (once a week, about 7-10 cigs). Just a lot easier for me to carry a pack of smokes then my PV and liquid. I exclusively drip and it is annoying to drip every time before use when out and about.

I am looking into a LR carto though, hopefully then I can vape while partying it up at bars.

Today at work i vaped in the smoking section without hiding my PV. I got some strange looks but no questions. I am sure it is just a matter of time before a few co-workers start asking some questions.

if you really want them to ask questions let them see you using it where u wouldn't b able to smoke normally - THAT will get their attention - i guarantee it.

I'm always amazed by people who ask about it then get turned off when you say it costs about $100 to get an Ego and some spare attys plus juice yet they'll happily fork out $50-$100 per week on cigs, it just doesn't make sense to me at all.

Thats what i say all the time. Shoot even if it was more expensive I'd still do it just for the health of my lungs.

Well, at first, I sort of felt the same way because, at that time, vaping was an uncertainty. I thought it was probably a novelty, and that it would end up being a waste of money, just like I wasted a bunch of money on patches and disgusting-tasting gum.

I have to agree with this one - I started vaping because another person that I work with bought a kit.

Since then (February) the two of us have gotten 8 people that we used to smoke with into vaping...not all of them stuck with it - my significant other stopped everything all together. But the fact is, in general, I feel like the fact that I vape in public has done a heck of a lot of good..

Plus now I get to try new juice flavors and stuff (we have sorta a work co-op with juice "hey lemme try that one...")

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised that MOST people are looking at it thinking "I need to get one of those" or "I need to get one of those for so and so..."
I mostly get positive comments and questions about my PS V3.
And I'm always proud to show it off. I'm not a smoker anymore, so I'm not ashamed of NOTHIN when it comes to vaping!:2cool:

I am in the middle as I have helped 18 people get started and talked to many more but it does take a lot of my time and I don't have a lot of spare time. I drove a bit of a distance to meet someone who was certain he wanted an 801. He tried it (I had bought it for him), took up hours of my time with questions and demonstration, then walked away without even saying thanks but no thanks. Now I am stuck with a PV that was slightly used. I have friends who get me to add their stuff to my order but then don't want to share the shipping costs and actually try to get me to gift them the items. What am I, a PV bank?

Bottom line is I am getting more selective. Today, a passerby asked me, "Is that one of those water vapor things?" and "Does it really cost 150.00 like I heard?" He didn't stick around too long so it was ok. I pointed him to ECF.

No way I love to see the looks on peoples face when they see the vape ! To me it seems like a good way to educate others. So that people dont just here a one side (the bad side) of the story! once the public is educated on both side they will be more willing to help stop the no vapen bans trying to be put into place!

I'm the opposite. I will openly vape in my car, but stealth vape everywhere else. Grocery, etc. Truth told, I don't go to many places where I would use one openly; a bar, etc. But I'm still a little uncertain about the reaction if/when that time might come.

I can see myself vaping around other smokers. I've done that and had people recognize it as an electronic cigarette. But I'm not comfortable with vaping in a place where I wouldn't normally smoke. The one time I did do that (at the local flea market) I had someone "side-step" my "smoke". I almost laughed out loud. Also, a smoker asked me many questions and I spent about twenty minutes talking to her and pointing her to ECF and Cignot. Smoking is highly frowned upon, in our little burg, so I think that's what it holding me back. :2cool:

i wouldn't worry about what people think -- they're probably just curious. they may not have heard about ecigs yets or you're the first person they've seen smoking one and they're fascinated by the "smoke".

i live in CA which has a lot of smoking restrictions and i like to be able to vape in restaurants/bars. sometimes i guess folks think i'm smoking and are a bit upset by that, but i let them see the blue light then put them out of my mind. although i have thought of making my own ejuice without PG/VG so it won't make any "smoke" so observers don't mistake my PV for a cig.

Being outspoken, I enjoy vaping in public and embrace questions. Every time someone confronts me about it, I look at it as a chance to save someone's life. Even non smokers who stop to ask me questions, I see it as an opportunity to get them knowledgeable about vaping in hopes they will pass that knowledge onto a smoker.

I was at an outdoor concert in my town recently. A Reggae band was playing on the steps of the local library. The police had blocked off the main street for folks to gather. I openly vaped the whole time, even in front of the police. Mind you, I use the Omega, which does look like some odd pipe. I had stares from the police, but none of them confronted me... and this thing really puts out vapor at 6 volts. As for the people around me, I think I converted 3 smokers that day.

The best advertising is word of mouth.

Hi Redrobin. When I first started vaping back in May, I too was a bit "embarassed" about it but with time, I just didn't care anymore! You still will get some curious looks when they see "smoke" coming out your mouth but there's no cigarette lol! It's pretty funny seeing their confused faces :)
Don't worry about it mate and keep vaping happily!
