I have 2 Vamos. One just died. When working, they were really good and worked well with the AGAs. I just hated that the latest one I bought last month, preordered.... So it should have been the latest version...had the center pin come loose and won't read/fire an atty at all now... So that $$ was basically wasted. The other one I have still works fine.

And that is certainly a valid point as well as a risk that has to be considered. FOr me it's a risk I am willing to take to get the rest of my vaping setup going properly

I am NOT against provari. I have no doubt some day I will be upgrading to something in that price range. Maybe even a provari (especially if they get VW). Just not an option right now.

I give up. I get so tired of hearing about variable wattage. I tried to justify it on the vamos when I was using them a lot, and it never made the slightest bit of difference to my experience. Not one bit.

But, if that's what it takes to make a vaper happy, then by all means... Stick with VW

I was not trying to frustrate you. Let me explain why I like the idea of VW. I am a no fiddle with it vaper. I want to set the wattage I like and let the device adjust itself to whatever I screw on it. That simple.

you would still fiddle with it to perfect it more. I am more likely to say close enough and roll with it. Just a different style is all.

The thread in question was from a new user WHO HAD ONLY USED A DISPOSABLE. He did not even know the difference between a carto, clearo, etc. He was asking about the "P" because he heard it was good.
I merely stated that he would be better served to start with an Ego type battery while exploring other options. The person posing the question was not even vaping at the time. He was still smoking stinkies.

Rather than jumping on the "P" bandwagon, I thought it better for a newcomer to start on more inexpensive and very versatile equipment to learn the difference of all the new and strange words he was hearing.

SOME seemed to twist (pun intended) this statement into "she is ragging on the "P," I WISH I had started on the "P," Don't knock the "P," "Your DOG sucks," etc.

I did not EVER state that the "P" wasn't good, quality AMERICAN made equipment. I merely was trying to convey that for a new practitioner, maybe it wasn't the "best" choice AT THAT TIME on his vaping quest.

That is what I have a problem with. The lack of SOME posters turning my original comments into a "she is bashing our beloved "P," so let's start bashing HER." Not fun being on the receiving end of that type of "mob" mentality.

I don't want anyone to leave this forum because of this silly argument. We ARE discussing BATTERIES, right? Non-"P" owners have the right to state other opinions without it turning into a blood sport.

BTW, the new poster later thanked me for my advice. I think he ordered a couple of Spinners to start with. Later on, he will probably get a "P!"

No one should be humiliated for giving advice. What we need to understand is that maybe we should ALL slow down and consider the intent before attacking each other.

What's funny is that many of you would label me a Provari fanboy ( a term I find offensive, but whatever...) like I am yhe type of person who feels you have to spend a lot of dough to "belong" to a club or elite group of vapors.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'm also the guy who's sold off my ZAP & D.I.D.'s to hang onto my inexpensive $25 AGA Genisis attys. These cheap little buggers flat out destroy everything else I've ever tried. I recommend them to everyone in place of the high end attys that are so beloved around here.

So... My view isn't so much based on bankroll... It's based on performance, value, and reliability.

Just so you know.. I really regret not getting that DID you had for sale

just wanted to say I agree.. I never, ever recommend a Provari or any of the more advanced user devices to someone who is just starting out. Let them start with a good ego kit and work from there. Unless they have a bit of vape time under their belt and ask specifically about a higher end device and the conditions are right, then of course I recommend my personal favorite. No one device is right for everyone. I usually stay away from the neebie forum.

A DID is a higher end rebuildable Genisis style atomizer with a tank. They can be found at a few places, House of Mods, and Metal Madness. They are extremely well made and precision machined and designed to last a lifetime.

I agree that an ego type set-up provides a pretty decent vaping experience (compared to cig-likes especially) & maybe it's even the best choice out there for a complete noob. A k-go kit is what I recommend to potential newcomers around here over the Blus etc. But when a person specifically asks for the BEST set-up available then that's a whole different question. In that case most experienced vapers will agree that an ego ain't it. And a whole lot of ppl would agree that a Provari is.

the problem is that words like BEST are very person dependent.

If you like provari and it fits your vaping style that is of course the BEST in your opinion for YOU.

Right now it fits neither my vaping style nor my budget so it is not the BEST in MY opinion for ME.

If you wanted to phrase it to the new person and say somthing like "I think the provari is the best." or even "Many people think the provari is the best." that is one thing.

If you said get a provari or you suck that is something else entirely.

I think alot of the vitriol would be bypassed if people were just a bit more cautious in how they say things.

No I think it is a disservice to the OP to not phrase it as what you THINK or in your OPINION. TO do otherwise is to imply it is the best period no other way for anyone to look at it.
