The only dual coil BCC i've tried was the Iclear 16. I was not impressed.
The thing went like juice like a shop-oholic on "Black Friday", the heads were twice as expensive and the vapor flavor was not much more than my Mini PT 2.
Now that they have the Mini PT 3, I'm not sold. I love Kanger, but I really don't see the big thing about dual coil.
To get a 1.5 ohm dual coil, you need to run 2 3 ohm coils in parallel. Power is going to be divided evenly, so each coil will fire as if it's a 3 ohm coil. So if you set your MVP to 8 watts, it will calculate the 1.5 ohm resistance and fire off at 3.46 volts.
3.46 volts will be supplied to each coil, so you get 4 watts at each coil.
Thus to get the same heat and throat hit on a dual coil unit, You have to run the battery at higher voltage and higher wattage.
So explain to me again dual coil advantages?
1. I use twice as much juice per puff
2. Coils are twice as expensive
3. I have to stress my battery and use a higher voltage and wattage for a given temperature and flavor.
The only winners here are the juice manufacturers, coil manufacturers, and battery manufacturers.
Someone tell me I'm wrong.....
