UPDATE:

While I'm stoked and waiting on my v2 to be delivered, I'm nervous at the same time. I did purchase 3 protank 2's and love them. My hesitation with the v2 is mounting. I'm worried that 6 watts will be too much for the pt2's. When I use my Vamo v5, my sweet spot is currently 4.5w (5-5.5w when drinking :) ) anything higher and I get a burnt taste. Thoughts?

#firstworldproblems

Have you taken any of the flavor wicks out? With one of them out my sweet spot is around 7.5-8.5 depending on how hard I pull. That's me though. When I used to smoke I smoked like it was my job, about 10-15 drags to kill it to the ..... I find with one flavor wick out, I have to pull slow to get the flavor and vapor I want at 7.5. I personally can't even use stock PT heads until I take at least one wick off the top. Try it out, let us know.

So far the only time i get a slight burnt taste on my PTs is with 50/50 juice. That is at 7watts and a 2.5ohm coil. Its a shame too because one my favorites, Icy Mint is only available locally in 50/50. It mostly happens on my Mini PT-II if i vape too fast. Very seldom on the regular PT-II.

You could try setting it by volts starting the lowest setting and see how it works for you. That what i did on my MVP V1 and i was totally satisfied with a PT-II at 3.8-3.9v. I did not look at the ohms on the coil so your results may vary.

I can vape nearly any other tank with at 6.5-7watts from 1.8-2.5ohm coils/carto and almost never get a burnt taste except for the iClear16s which i gave away. Stock coils and nearly all my juices gave me a burnt taste too often. The i16 IMO is much better with a i30 coil. IMO the iClear30 is even better. Huge vapor, great taste and i had great luck with them when i first started vaping. Every juice i tried was very good to excellent.

The i16 holds slightly less juice than a XL 1.7ohm unpunched carto and IMO the plain carto taste way better than the i16. Cant beat them considering the price difference of a new Innokin coil ($2.99) vs a $1.39 Smoktech XL carto. I still think they look really cool to on the MVP with the PT drip tip.

Been getting a bit of burning on PT 2 mini at 2.2 ohm even when taking one of the wicks out. Might be cause using a pretty think and dark juice though. When it's good though...ITS REALLY GOOD! Had it with me fishing off the dock this weekend at the camp. Cool day, warm vape, can't be beat!

My MVP v2 came TODAY!!!:D
Left the iClear 30 in the case, as I'm using PT2's....no problems with either!!
Anyone else notice the REALLY SHARP edge on the beauty ring???!!
Using 1.8 ohm coils (actually reading 1.9 on the meter!!) at 3.6v. with my HV Cuban Coffee (ONE flavor wick removed from the coil....;)) ---
NICE!!!!!
My eGo-C Twist 650's will now "retire" to the "bullpen"...I find them easier to use with my 510 bridgeless attys....

Just purchased mine online, waiting very (im)patiently for shipping notice + tracking number. :D

So excited.

Edit: Just got my shipping confirmation...less than an hour after I ordered. I'm so excited!! Never had a box mod before, just KR808Ds, Egos, my zmax and my lambo. :D

Dont know if this helps but heres my experience.. I have the vamo v3 from FT and i was using my pt2.. i would usually have it at 6-7 watts.. would get a burnt taste after 7w... when i recieved my mvp 2.. threw on the the pt2 straight from my vamo and set my watts to 8.5 and hit like a dream... i dont know why though.. i just blamed my vamo lol

Can anyone say if the stainless evods match the silver mvp? Or should I go blue?

Just got this in the mail, haven't even put any juice in it yet...

The finish doesn't exactly match, but I still think it looks just fine. Definitely the best clearo match I have, aesthetically

do you think the fire button is a bit stiff, not sure if mine is easing off or not...

It's a bit stiff, but I like that. No misfires going on if I happen to slip it in my pocket. (which I don't usually do, plastic clearos scare me. lol) It did seem stiffer when I first go it yesterday, but I'm not sure if it is or I'm just getting used to it. I think it would be cool if the fire button was on top, beside the clearo socket. Perhaps at a 45 degree angle?

Just an FYI, the beauty ring that came with mine was a little too tall so it prevented some of my tanks from making a connection. Couple of minutes with some fine grit sandpaper on the bottom of the ring and no issues since.

Fine grit sandpaper is a good choice, and if you want you can even use a stone (like for sharpening knives). I use stones a lot at work deburring parts and they're great to take off very small amounts of material, and they make a good surface finish while keeping the surface good and flat. Just put a few drops of whatever oil you have handy (mineral spirits work great in my experience) and use figure 8 motions to remove material evenly.

I bought a 6' long USB to micro-USB cable at Target yesterday...now I can lay back in my recliner and run my MVP while charging...Life is good!

I was going to buy one also but I went the other way and have a ten foot coiled extension cord that I had kicking around with an old three foot long cord cell phone charger plugged in to it.

What can I say, we Yankees aren't cheap, we are frugal :)
