welcome to MVP land

red display will be V1 ; blue read out is V2

battery shows Green while good
Yellow means Charge
RED means you're a bad vapor for letting it get that low... :D

lower it gets, longer it takes to charge

then the other way
RED means don't use it as Passthrough
Yellow, almost ready
Green means it's charging and OK to use it as passthrough

it will STAY GREEN until it is done charging, then goes dark when done

:)

My MVP V1 is also blue led like my MVP V2

I was going to make a thread asking for peoples thought's on the itaste MVP, but it seems I got all I needed to know from this thread. Though I haven't read all 281 pages!

I bought mine a week ago. I still haven't needed to charge it and I'm still getting a good vape.

It's probably a bit manly for a woman lol, but I'm tired of having crape vapes using the other ego type batteries.

I'm not sure if I have v1 or v2.

Welcome!

Here's your sign :) . .

Cheers, capt. :)
It's a 2.0 V2, that was supposed to have been fixed but it seems that it hasn't. I'm just going to put it down to experience and stay away from Innokin, they just don't last.
I've had a MVPv1 since they first came out and it's still going strong. I also have a MVPv2 that I adore. Haven't had a VV V3 but plan on getting one for out and about. Frankly I agree with >
None of my business what you do with your money. 6 months would be fine with me, longer than that even better. $40 divided by 26 weeks is about $1.55 per week. Still cheaper than a pack or two a day.

We've all had our experiences with different mods, tanks, atty's, carto's, rebuildables etc. Ya just never know what ya may get. I hate that you've had this experience with the Innokin products but I for one have had no problems so far (knocking on wood). I hope that you find a fix.

Recycling the MVP

Try turning the device off, turning it back on and then plug it in to the charger. Try the fire button and then the try off and on again. I had a glitch where it was taking 10+ hours to charge. Cycling it through finally got it back on track. Seems to happen when it detects an overload or short. Worth a shot!

They aren't meant to last forever (hence no replaceable battery) but are the most value for the money. There is a post about 5-10 pages back from a guy celebrating his one year anniversary with his mvp.

Pretty sure the battery averages 200 charge cycles. Depending how often you charge that could be over or under a year.

If you want to buy something that just won't die I hear good things about the provari. Sorts pricey, cant sub ohm, or vw, but it's built like a tank, superb performance, great warranty and can send back to manufacturer for a reasonable fee for life.

If you like box mods, go for a reo. Available either straight mech or vv (still no vw) can sub ohm, built tough, can send it back to the maker as well.. And the neat thing is they can use bottom feeding rdas and have an internal bottle to squeeze as needed to basically drip without dripping.

Both are great devices and I want to own both. But they will run you 125-300+ depending on which bells and whistles and models you choose. Which is why I have a mvp. It does so much.. Is cheap.. and durable for the vast majority of it's users.

Sorry if yours is dead but most people seem to think of then as such a value as to be disposable if/when they die. 40$ for six months is cheaper than a lot of options.

But you are welcome to your own opinion of the company.. After all it's your experiences and views that matter to you.

Well thought out post.:) You make a lot of valid points. I own 2 MVP's and feel they are a wonderful value for the money. We have come to live in a disposable world in many ways, and I don't expect anything to last forever.

I tend to think in "cigarette expense" terms when it comes to my vaping equipment. A new MVP when mine finally gives up the ghost will only cost me $40, which is about what I paid for a carton of cigarettes which didn't even last me a week when I smoked!

Very strange MVP issue I have been experiencing. This all started last week when I went to the local vape shop and bought some 1.2 ohm dual coil cartos for my ibtank. Anyways to the problem...

I got the carto in and they were working relatively smooth. After a few days of vaping, I started noticing this extreme harsh throat hit. Like the flavor was so intense it would make me cough. Keep in mind that I wasn't getting much vapor either. I could see this result if the vapor was big and heavy. I also bought some 1.6 ohm aspire bdc coils to go into my aspire tanks to tide me over until I got some single coil cartos in the mail. After three of the aspire coils tasting awful and burnt, I decided to give my iclear 30 tank a try. Been sitting in the box since I bought the mvp. Filled it up today and it vaped well for a few hours. After that I started experiencing the same intense/harsh with little vapor production pulls.

Well when I was driving it occured to me that maybe this could be a battery issue. Keep in mind that my mvp is reading everything fine. No error messages whatsoever. So I try my iclear 30 tank and aspire tanks on some of my old ego c batteries and its like a whole different experience. Vaping is smooth like I remember it. None of the issues I was having when using the mvp the past few days.

So my question to mvp owners is what could this be? Anyone else experience anything like this? Its almost as if when it fires something is happening internally and not pushing the right power. Also when using the 1.2 ohm cartos, I was pushing the 3 amp limit the entire time since they are dual coil. Could that have of harmed my mvp? Either way I'm pretty upset. This whole time I was ranting about how bad the aspire coils are (I kept getting this awful burnt taste) and I never thought it could be a battery issue. Looks like I'm back to using my ego sticks for the time being until I can get the mvp issue sorted out. I have also cleaned out the connection are with q tips, alcohol, and water. Seemed to help maybe a little but I'm still experinecing these horrible burnt hits with the aspire 1.6 ohm bdc tank and the heavy/harsh/little vapor hits on the carto tank and i clear 30.

I'm obviously new to vaping, started w/ spinner & wanted more. So w/ MVP2 set @ 3.7 ish & go from there. Most ppl say change this & power will change by itself, is this correct cuz I haven't noticed it change much? Do most of u [I know it's preference] but change v or w? Also, if I got 2.5 ohm coil I can go higher vs a 1.5 correct? Ty all, so far much.. Much doesn't describe it... Night & day vs spinner!

You have a meter or OmniMeter? It would be nice to see what the volts under load is.. I'm using mine with 1.2-1.3ohm dual coils now and all is good... Might not last though.

They're far from $40 in the UK and I have a mechanical anyway so all good, not panicking. I liked the MVP, that's what's so annoying.
The point is that in 26 weeks it's been charged well under 100 times [roughly twice a week] and considering it's supposed to last around 300 charges [not 200] I think that pretty poor.
I appreciate that it's a 'throwaway' but expected it to last 12 months at least and have no idea how a guy has celebrated that already considering the v2 hasn't been out 12 months...
Will probably leave Innokin now and move onto a DNA 30 mod, liked the look of the Vapor Shark but 1200mah LiPo puts me off so Hana Modz will likely get my custom due to the 18650 ability.
Thanks anyway, hope the rest of you have better luck than I've had with Innokin products, 2/2 fails in under 6 months= bye from me.

Did you let it go all the way to shut-off before charging?

No need to drain the MVP, this is common knowledge. They should last a couple of years [300 charges] and are pass through devices as you know. I'm just going to move on, just wondered if anyone had experienced similar problems and as I use the UK side of this forum thought I'd ask on here.

Thats why I asked... You are not suppose to drain it flat. No Li-Ion batt likes that. They are like lead-acid batts in that respect.

Just trying to figure it out, man.

I have an ohm meter and that is it. What do I need to get in order to find out what it is actually firing at? The past three days have been a disaster as far as vaping satisfaction is concerned and this whole time it seems to be the battery. I'm thinking running the 1.1-1.2 ohm carto at 3.6 volts may have been the culprit. Never had any error readings but since doing that for a day things have not been right. Maybe I should contact the place I bought it from. So strange but at least I feel a little better knowing that it is the battery and not a bunch of bad coils. I've been on multiple rants against aspire coils here recently. Kind of feel bad for saying such awful things about them and this whole time its been the battery.

How long have you owned it? Is it still under warranty?

If you have a multimeter, you can check the voltage while the device is firing, but its hard to check it under load.

This is an Ohm meter/Volt meter and will test your devices volts under load: The Omnitester

You can find it cheaper on ebay..

Hmmm.. Have you checked the vv/vw readings? Power cycled? It sounds like its vaping at too high volts/watts.

Via spontaneous binary code

Checked everything and things seem ok until i fire it. The aspire coils are giving me this god awful burnt taste and the low ohm cartos are giving me this extreme throat hit with little vapor production. What exactly do you mean by power cycle? I rarely let it get to the yellow before I charge it. Usually plug it in when I sleep and let it stay on the charger till I wake up in the morning. Only thing that seems off is the actual vapor. I would say on average I start charging when its reading 3.7 or 3.8 volts. So strange....
