I don't think ANYONE here doesn't like tobacco. On the contrary. We all smoked! :)

For me, I loved smoking and never wanted to quit. Point is, there is soooo veeerrrry much out there that just blows it away. Those who are stuck on finding that "perfect" tobacco substitute are really missing the point. And will likely have a really hard time quitting if that's what they want to do.
And I hear ya! It's really hard to get your head around it. To me, it's limiting myself. Maybe even to failure. For me, since I didn't want to quit, if I found a juice that tasted exactly like what I was smoking I can guarantee I would never have quit. After all, vaping is a PITA compared to just grabbing a smoke, lighting up and enjoying the taste.

It's a whole new world out there once you get past the "gotta have the tobacco" taste. You really don't. :)

I have over 1.6 liters of 'other than tobacco' flavors... They suck. Its not about finding a substitute.. its about finding something you like.

I totally agree with this. It's all about finding what you like to keep you off the analogs. For me it was bobas, probably bought over 1500 mls. Then I got in to diy. Now I have a ry4 adv that I mix.

Exactly. I got lucky on my first shot. And that was a great cherry tobacco. (Yep. The newbie baccy search)That they discontinued. (grrrr) But tried a gazillion. And yeah... the vast majority suck. Either don't taste anything like they're supposed to or the flavors are so muted they taste like nothing. But the winners are... wow!

I just stumbled across one I loved that ended any search for baccy flavors. I kinda saw the light. That brought on a search for others. It's not easy but they're out there. I even found a strawberries and cream I like. And I don't like strawberries. I even tried a few dozen chocolate flavors. Only found two that I really like.

And if you have a ton you don't like on the shelf... try mixing them. :) I have some vanilla butternut I wasn't too fond of. But add a bit to some chocolate... heavenly.

Dano, you gotta get a Still are! Got mine from FT and I absolutely love it. Patriot is a back up now...with the 2 huge holes I had to drill for sub ohm on my mech.
Still just the one mech for me...I have done well avoiding "shiny new" sickness The Stillare is so good I am thinking of getting a couple more, I love the airflow control and no more drilling. Do they make them in Copper?

Keirster sorry I have not been On ECF for a while If I mentioned I had a Stillare I was mistaken. I have 2 Tobh attys 1 brass and 1 SS. The FT Origen works very well also.
And a patriot But the one I like best is the Quasar Brass 1 to 1 clone from FT. I highly recommend it. Great airflow control. But the Tobh is a close second. IMO I just looked FT has the Quasar in Copper. $9.45 and the Tobh in Copper $10.75

:) Agreed. Mountain oak vapors has a good smoky mountain 555. But... still can't beat no baccy flavors. At least for me. I think that's a big problem with a lot of new vapers. They keep looking for a good baccy and, IMO, are just shooting themselves in the foot. :)

the only non fruit or desert flavor i like is my DIY Tribeca or Halo's Tribeca, every tobacco type i've tried are crap....now you can mix a good menthol flavor using Halo's Turkish and Menthol Ice @ 70/30

Never tried Halo's stuff but mountain oak has some pretty good stuff. With glass bottles and eye droppers. Classy. :) But not really lookin for baccy flavors anymore. The only reason I have some is it's one of the first places I ordered from. They have a decent cherry tobacco as well. But still have one from them I never opened. Don't remember what flavor it is. I just opened the 555 a few days ago. No real idea why! LOL But once that's gone... no real reason to order more. It's good, but itz a baccy flavor. To me, it's good for a change but not good enuff to spend more money on it. I got lots I haven't even opened from other places as well.

I chased the tobacco dream when I first started vaping. Now I vape mostly non tobacco flavors, but I since I found a few good NETs I really enjoy them when I am in the mood. Never found a synthetic tobacco (except a few fave RY4s) I liked. Too perfumy/chemical tasting for my liking.

pardon the typos, on my phone :)

Ok, so I just got a Magma RDA clone by Infinite in the mail yesterday. I'm fairly new to rebuilding... just got a KFL+ clone a week or two ago, and had only rebuilt my kanger heads before that, but hadn't ever really had an issue with anything not working like I wanted.

I built the Magma last night with a 30g kanthal microcoil @ about 1.7 ohms. Terrible burnt hits after a few minutes... it was probably that it wasn't wicking fast enough. So I tore it down this morning, and decided to try something more simple.

I did about 6 wraps of 32g kanthal spaced evenly apart, which got me to 1.9 ohms according to the ohm reader on my MVP and my wife's itaste vv. I wicked it back up (after watching a few youtube builds with this device to get wicking ideas) and put it on my MVP... nada. It gives a resistance reading of "0.0"... If I try to fire it, I get nothing but a solid green light that stays on a couple seconds after I release the button.

I took the atty off, checked resistance, and got "non" as expected. I double checked that there weren't any visible shorts in the build and didn't see anything. I put the kayfun on the MVP and it fired. So I put the magma on my wife's vv, and got a resistance of 1.9. It fires right up and hits like a dream...

Anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't be working on my mvp? It worked this morning before I rebuilt. I thought maybe that the 510 wasn't making connection, but then it would give me a "non" and not "0.0", right? Everything else I have works fine. I know I could take this build apart and try again, but I really like the way it's working on the vv and don't want to mess with it if I don't have to... no clue what's going on here.

If it's stuck then i understand but your dismay with o rings goes way deeper than that lol, some sort of mental block preventing you from doing it , hypnotism may be in order.

I even put an o ring in my adapter lol, works great now (even though i don't need the adapter) .

Think i should change my name to Mr. Oring

so you’re just pulling people off the street and pressuring them into
adding o-rings to things they own ?? (cruel)

what if mine & 12 or so MVPs during assembly happen to install
short leads on the center pin connectors, then I pull mine out and
tear off a wire ?
I’m not one that has abused (overtighten) my MVP, ever - since day one
I knew better – the reason some toppers don’t fit, on occasion, is the lousy
quality control on toppers (amongst other) and poor thread design on MVP
to just drop in an 80¢ washer and be so invisible, is way cool

better than using an oring for a headband…

:D

MVP (or any) 510 connector problems? Lemmee say this about that.

Knock on wood, nearly 5 months with the MVP... not a problem for me. Nor a problem with any mod.

Clones. The el cheapo's from FT often have lousy machining. Screwing/unscrewing feels like there is sandpaper in the treads. That will do wonders (note the sarcasm) for the connectors. Early failure is inevitable. My opinion? If it doesn't feel "buttery smooth", don't use it.

I take my tanks off to clean em mebbee every week... 10 days or so. Never take em off to fill em. I use the i30 simply because I detest having to take a tank off to fill it. I can probably fill more than a dozen tanks before everyone else fills one. And since I don't take it off there's no extra wear. And even with good treads there is a certain amount of wear and tear. Add bad machining and it's like taking a file to it every time you R&R.

Every heavy vaper with a clone takes it off mebbee 2 or 3 times a day to fill it. I take mine off 2 or 3 times a month to clean it. And if I stand in front of a steam engine... you can't see the steam engine.

I Vape Tobacco flavor

81½% of what I vape is tobacco flavors
it’s part of my life engrained into me from better than 40yrs
I loved smoking, tobacco and how good it went with booze

now I do it Electronically
555 / USA blend / Coumarin / Commercial Tobacco / Natural / Virginia Fire Cured
then, blueberry tobacco, vanilla tobacco, peach tobacco, butterscotch tobacco
and of course the king of all e juice “RY4” :p

found a couple RY4 I like, (some awful) but I can’t seem to make a good batch
to save my life – have a new one coming in today to try…

all the other is just fluff to keep me from getting bored…

Right behind you
The only tobacco I have loved was Tribeca, and a ry4D blend I made. I just got a new one in today that smells excitingly like Tribeca but much cheaper... We shall see! I have rarely met a fruit I don't like. NEVER found a coffee I could vape. I fell in love so much with ry4 double that I bought a huge bottle of the flavor for my DIY (my R2D2 recipe) Then I got lazy with DIY before I ever even used it lol. Havent found an ADV yet and I am almost 2 years in!

CApt Shay, The Mighty Kayfun is as advertised IMO...Best flavor and vapor production outside of dripping on my mech. I haven't used a clearo since. I used 28 ga kanthal and made my first coil at 1.3 ohms. After 2 months of use and cleaning ( dry burn, rewick ) it is still going! I must have made some sort of super coil as it refuses to break. I use heavy VG mixes as well, so it does get quite gunky ;)
I prefer organic cotton for wicking, some other use the yarn, just haven't tried that yet, or the mesh.

Good luck, I am anxious to know your thoughts once you get a good build on it.

I have been told the long green light means a short on the MVP or VV3. Weird that it works on one but not the other. There are some WAAAAY more advanced tech folk in here that should know.

Hang tight, they should answer soon......Puff, Capt, Anyone.....You have a patient waiting ;)

I did some more digging and figured it out. I needed to pull the pin up on my MVP... I never tighten my toppers down very hard because I know they can push the pin down, but I guess the 510 on this Magma is a little longer than the others and I snugged it too much. Got it pulled up just a little and all is good now.

yep you just learned a valuable lesson about the MVP 510 connection, never crank anything down on it just enough to make contact, personally i use an Airflow Control adapter; screw my toppers on it first then put the adapter and topper on the MVP until it makes contact (ohm reading) then i ride the beauty ring up to lock it in place.
Airflow Adapter....the adapter saves your original threads and gives you a new base to use also protects you from getting juice into your 510 connection

on your Magma RDA with the MVP would suggest making micro coils with your 30 ga @ about 1.5 to 2.0 ohm's and wick with Cotton, cannot be beat flavor-wise..jmo

Finally, finally, finally got to the bottom of it lol, took a while . As for pulling wires out , i suppose it could happen if your overly rough and yank the pin much much further than it's supposed to go but i have not heard of an o ring fix ever causing this so it's complete here say.

O rings rule , learn it. live it , love it
