There's already been a discussion on belt/pocket clips in this thread and the general consensus from Europeans is that Americans (apart from already being a very strange, pitiable people) are completely ridiculous in their love of clipping things onto their person like some sort of demented clearance rack display stand in a dollar store.

Mind you, I thought it strange to belittle an entire group that makes up a significant portion of your sales, but what do I know.. ..I'm one of those zany Americans.

:2c:

That is not what i ment..

Let me make it clear that i was not trying to do anything to any group of people.

But, what i was trying to say, and lets keep in mind that my native language is infact not english so sometimes stuff gets lost in translation, was:

I am from Europe, so ofcourse my designs have an origin in european culture. This can be good or bad - depending on who the "taker" of my designs are. Ofcourse i try to please as many people as i can, but it IS impossible to please everyone, all the time.

Adding something like a belt clip option to this design, is something i personally would rather not do. My viewpoints on the matter is simple: I think it looks ugly, and i think that even though 10% (cause i honestly doubt its more) of our users might find this a great addition, then that option will be annoying to the 90% of our users that does not want it.

Thats why i have omitted this solution from the design - simple as that.

So, if anyone felt offended by my way of posting the above, earlier in this thread, in another manner of speaking - then please accept my apology. It was not ment as a "lash out" at anyone in particular - i think i just worded myself badly.

And to those of you that reaaaally wanted the option, i am sorry - but again, it is impossible to please everyone - but i do try my best!

I hope that clears it up, and that we can lay that matter to rest now :)

Isnt that violation of your 1st amendment rights?

Unless you signed a non disclosure agreement that is...

You can kill a revolutionary, but you cannot kill the revolution?

Well first of all im not an American, so.. i wouldnt have a 1st amendment :)

Secondly, I am not doing anything against my will - there is a reason for everything you know :p

But thanks for you concern, but i am okay.. *blinks rapidly with both eyes*

Just a quick question as I didn't see it addressed in my quick scan of the thread..

How about a spring-loaded compartment for the eGo? Like, press down on the ego and it unclips, springs out? Does this make sense?

Even without this, I would buy the case if the price is right for sure. Every day before work I pack up my eGo, carts, extra battery, juice, and a couple attys to take with me for my 12 hour shift. I'd love to have a case exactly made just for this :)

Could I refer you to the peasants' revolt of 1381, Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht's failed revolution in Germany, the Irish rebellion of 1798, Nicholas Bravo's rebellion in Mexico of 1827, the failed liberal revolts across Europe in 1848 and the unsuccesful Azerbaijan coup of 2004...

haven't read all this thread, but I just wanted to throw this in... I really don't want a case for my ego, but since the button goes off every time in my jeans pocket, then I need something

but ideally I'd prefer the ego itself had a master on/off switch, recessed somewhere, maybe in the middle like a thumb slider switch

but that little snap on protector thing looks like a work around I might be ok with.

just my opinion, but I wouldn't want that big case to carry tons of stuff. I'd prefer something like a little slim cigar tube I can slip in my pocket that the ego just fits in but won't go off. that looks big for a mans pocket, looks ok for a woman's purse but I have too many things in my pockets already (phone, wallet, keys, cell phone, concealed weapon, etc)

I noticed in the video you said its not for your pockets, its for your "purse, bag, or jacket pocket" American men generally don't carry purses or "european mens shoulder bags" ;) and I live in desert heat 9 months out of the year and wear light clothing, no jackets so pocket space is limited

so to sum it up I'd buy just the little snap on protector things. and maybe a case if you make a slim model that fits ONLY one assembled ego and is designed around being as slim/small as possible

Ok, only seeing the outside and not seeing the inside as i don't have video capability here at work and just reading the reviews, here is my comment... just don't take it the wrong way, I DO love your products...

As far as the case goes, it looks good. Nice, sleek design. However, why on earth would you release a product and not get peoples opinions FIRST so that you know what THEY want and not what the manufacturer thinks is cool. I see this a lot in the smaller industries like this, but in larger industries, they do a lot of user polls, then make two or more prototypes that have different options, let a test market use them, etc. before they actually go into production. Then they usually have more than one options when going production. To say to your market that sorry, you guys are just "weird" and not look at the ENTIRE market and get the ENTIRE markets opinion on what THEY want seems kinda silly. I know cost is a prohibiting factor, but then take the time to make it an "Optional" feature. The mold could be changed to add a screw on feature for a belt clip, so that the user can "add" the belt clip themselves by buying an upgrade kit or something. Just seems kinda silly to just say "no.period." to such a large part of the market. But that is just my opinion. I would think that the engineers should have thought this out a little better. It is like those silly metal cases they sell everywhere. you can't store your things in it half the time because fully assembled, it won't fit. Someone just didn't take the time to think about how their product will be used by the everyday population and they just thought about how THEY would use it.

Also, I do think that the eGo needs a slight re-design to recess the button a little more as it IS very easy to bump it on. A clip to go over the top seems silly to me and makes it harder to use since you have to take the clip on and off to use it. Again, my opinion.

P.S. Keep up the good work! :D

I have to agree with everyone who has suggested some type of clip for the case. I have a clip on my cell phone case because it makes sense by making my phone more accessible. If I want a case for my eGo that I put in my pants pocket I can just use the hard shell eyeglass tube I bought at Wal-mart for $6. It holds an fully assembled eGo, atomizer, filled cart and 3ml bottle of juice. But it doesn't have a clip so I rarely use it.
I am a supporter of Janty but I wouldn't buy this case without a clip.

Well,

we estimated how many users would use a belt clip, vs how many would not. Then we chose. Also, this thread ( and others in other places ) function as our surveys - so i dont get what youre saying? I do think we _are_ one of the companies that does research, and basically all our products are based on customer request.

Ofcourse some things, design specifically, is a matter of taste and as such it means that we do have to get out a mix of our own style, as well as what we think people like.

But in the end, its impossible to please everyone - and i honestly dont believe anyone should try doing that - i am ofcourse sorry that you feel you need the belt clip option so much; but maybe the next item we put out will be 120% what you wanted, and then someone else might feel overlooked.
