Would you Like to see the eGo with color options

  • Yes, I would buy a colored ego over what is available right now.

  • No, I am satisfied with the current options.

Hey Henry

Okay we need to resolve this. Im thinking it could all be a freak type incident. Now, this is guesswork on my part but, - maybe your atomizer is short circuiting stuff - i mean, all atomizer have resistance built into them. If we say for the fun of it, that your atomizer somehow manages to bypass most / if not all / of that resistance, then this will mean that that atomizer draws TOO much power from the batteries, causing them to overheat - and possible explode.

Why? Cause with no resistance, its basically the equivalent of putting a wire from the batteries + pole to its - and leaving it.

and THATS what it sounds to me like your batteries are doing! Thats why the LED is not working - it just died ( fast! ) and regarding lighting up the USB charger, i wouldnt worry about that. Since your ego batt has more power than an unplugged ego usb charger, then it will "give" its power to the ego charger trying to balance it out. Thats normal. If you have two batteries and one battery is at 10%, the other is at 30% and you hook them both up to a lightbulb, then after a while they will both be at 20% (or 17.5% cause they used some power.. but you get the picture )

So - STOP using your atty. I THINK it could be the one causing the problem. Do you have a new atomizer? Also, we will figure this out so dont worry. Just be careful!

ho hohohoooo, sloooow. if the additional 1-2cm is upping the capacity to 900mAh, this device just has to be produced. the size would be perfect, my eGo just seems a little to short to be a real cigar placebo. the bigger battery will fix that :D

[edit] i really thought the mega battery will come a bit later, you just shocked me with your post.

Well - we have thought about it, and we WILL be producing them. But we dont know when they will be produced or when they will arrive in stock. So please dont ask - we will announce once we come close to it. Just letting you know, so you know that it is going to happen, eventually!

The crowd goes wild and there is dancing in the streets.

I have just come looking on here to see if anyone else is having problems, weird things are happening to my batteries too:(
The other day I took a battery off charge and connected it up to the atomiser, I went to pick it up a few minutes later and it was hot,the silver band around the top of the battery was red hot! I disconnected the battery and let it cool down and tried connecting it to a different atty as it had blown the other, the atty started sizzling straight away without the switch being pressed, the switch doesn't light up but it heating the atty of it's own accord.
I put my other battery on charge using the usb charger (it was completely flat) and I noticed that the light on the charger stayed green it didn't turn red as normal, I left it for awhile but it didn't charge the battery at all, I'm not sure if it is a coincidence that they both happened at the same time or if the charger did something to the battery or the battery did something to the charger.
I contacted Toby and he has replaced my battery/charger and atty for me, bless him:)
But I have noticed that my other original kit battery is getting really hot around the silver band when in use, it is making me cautious about it to be honest as the one that went completely wappy was so hot it was starting to melt the cart around the edges, I'm just glad I caught it before anything too drastic happened.

Could the atty I was using be causing this? Its just so strange 3 batts in 24hrs.

The only common denominator is the atty. That atty is screaming to be placed across an ohm meter for testing.

There's a possibility here RIA, that there are two things going on, which is why this can get confusing. Initially, a defective battery could have damaged the atty (causing HIGH resistance), consequently the now damaged atty is drawing too much current from the previously 'good' batteries, thus frying them.

Sans a meter, it's guess work. With a meter is easy peasy.

Hey Mik,
You are saying its the atty. What is it with mine? Not the atty. I am still using the same atty that was on the battery that this happened to with me. Almost the exact same thing. That battery has been sent back to Janty USA and Ethan should have it by Tuesday the latest. Its probably HIS (Henry's) atty, but not for me. Something happened to the battery and the button, if you push it in sucsesstion that it will blink 5x and that battery will not work at all. I tapped the battery and didn't do anything. There was a smell like Henry discribed and all too.:confused:

I dont know whats causing all of this - i honestly dont think all of these things are linked together - i think they are independant freak accidents caused by different things.

I mean, i have around 10 ego batts here, i use them all - and i have yet to see any of the problems that anyone else is having. All these batteries i have are different types, some are the ego logoed ones, some are from our un-warranted batch with the dimple, some are without.

I never melt my carts, the band doesnt get hot, and so on and so forth. So its hard for me to say what could be causing these issues. Most likely its flukes - its random accidents caused by either a faulty build, a faulty atty - or the combination of both. It IS hard to tell.

As for how to resolve these issues, well for now, i suggest we deal with them one at a time. If you have a bad battery, or an issue, you have to open a ticket (such as you guys have done) with your shop and send them in for a replacement.

I will on my part contact all the shops now, and have them examine these things - if this keeps on happening, i will have those batteries collected, and shipped off to our engineers to determine what is wrong, and how it can be fixed.

hi Mik,
i noticed that using my ego with dura carts it may happen that the end of the cart do melt slightly. Very rare but it does happen once in a while.
I've read somewhere in the past that you should line 510 carts to the atty the correct way.
I'm not sure if the longest sides (straight ones) of the cart has to be parallel to the mesh-bridge or the heating coil down the ceramic pool instead.
Do you align carts one way?
thanks!
