Would you Like to see the eGo with color options

  • Yes, I would buy a colored ego over what is available right now.

  • No, I am satisfied with the current options.

Ok so the weirdest thing just happened.

I was vaping away happily on my ego, and I noticed after I stopped pressing the button, my atty continued to fire. The LED on the button flashed a few times, but not like when the battery needs charging. While the atty was still firing, the LED was NOT illuminated, I wiggled the button to see if it was stuck but it felt fine.

My atty continued to fry as I frantically took off the cart and the cone with my hands wrapped in my shirt cause it was so hot. I noticed a strange "Ozone" like odor and I honestly cant say if it was from the atty or the battery, but after taking it off, the battery wrieked of that smell, and the atty was still smokeable with no odor or foul taste (Thank god for quality dura attys, a joye510 woulda been done for after that)

I threw the battery on the charger again, since the light flashed a few times, but nothing happened... No LED flashing, no change in the charger status light. I tested the charger with another battery and all is good. But this battery is toast!

So Im bummed im out a battery. But the problem is I have a 5 pack of the multi batts, plus the 2 that came with the kit, and cant tell them apart, so I dont know if this battery is under warrantee... Anyone know how I can tell them apart?

Funny..
The same thing happened to me.
I am sending mine back today and getting a new one.
Plus my other battery seems to have a mind of its own.. It was only lasting me up to 4 hrs for a week and so far it has lasted me for 7 hrs.. I just don't know what to think about it..

I don't know if your batteries differ from mine or not but --

My original batteries have a small hole dead center of the positive terminal. The batteries that came in the 5 pack have no such hole.

Hey

First of all - that does sound very very strange.

Stubear, for your battery that lasts 4 hrs then 7 hours, - it COULD be that you didnt screw it all the way in. I mean if it "just" makes contact it will begin flashing as if its charging, but it could then "pop" out of that small loose connection, if you didnt screw it all the way in - oh but dont use force.. :)

As for you guys and the batteries doing this.. i have no idea - this is the first i have heard of this problem. As per usual, ofcourse, you will have to get in touch with Ethan for this and he will be able to help you out.

In general i will say this though: Do not leave any e-cigarette unattended, and overnight i would not recommend leaving it assembled - or in a charger. This is not because i think stuff like this can happen - its because i dont WANT it to happen: And all battery operated items should be treated this way: never trust them - no matter if it says Sony, Janty or Kung-fu on it.

As a shareholder in Kung-fu Batteries and Electronics Ltd, I take offense to this remark. =)

Good advice, Mik. It's much appreciated.

The batteries I got in two starter kits have no such holes. I think they stopped producing them with the holes because it caused problems.

When the Dura was first released there was a similar issue with the batteries not being completely sealed. Once they sealed the Dura batts they were much better. I would guess that the same thing is going on with the eGo.

I'd imagine there is some other identifier to mark warrantied and non-warrantied batteries.
