My wife got so annoyed with the state of my desk she bought me a mini chest of drawers, that she even put together herself to keep it all in!

I'll not pretend that i am better organised than i was before, but it's tidier and she's happier. As long as i can find everything, without hunting high and low, I'm good with it. That case is a good idea Alice and i have something similar in a desk drawer at work for emergencies.

But the lighting is not as good there and so i prefer to do all my maintenance here, where i have all my tools and supplies.

Oh I have boxes, baskets, drawers of vape stuff scattered all over the house. Now with RM2 and most REOs and frequent juices and tiny coil building essentials handy I have my first semblence of order. Once I put the little bag together coiling is no longer a challange it used to be gathering things up. One thing that helps is to have several coils worth of wire on the cardboard stub. No more frequent dealing with several feet of wire popping off the spool.

It also helps tremendously to use my prescription bifocals instead of off the shelf readers. Bright, bright light becomes less critical.

i do 8-10 wraps, whatever gauge it takes to get where I want to be. I really prefer 8. Kick time slows with each added wrap.

i did a 8 wrap of 28 nich. 1.5mm ID, short legs = .68 Ohms... loving that snappy reaction,

but perhaps a smaller ID for a couple more wraps, same .68... dunno how much ID matters for flavor, but i'm liking high .6's to low .7's

deb, don't know who designed it, found the image googling one day and kept it because I was impressed.

For those of you with lots of spools of wire these work great.

Those black spots have holes in them, once loaded you just pull out what you need. I gave one to the local shop because sometimes they looked like kittens with a ball of string.

It's made by Plano for holding spools of fishing line.

I use the same thing for holding my teflon wire for building flashlights. As much wire I used to go through, this made life so much easier with all the builds I used to do daily.

Empty fishing line spools were not easy to find (at the time) unless bought in bulk, luckily a local fishing store hooked me up. Transfering 250 ft of wire onto each spool would be very time consuming. I just chucked up the spools in my lathe, attached the wire, & turned the spindle on low. Could do the same with a drill

Fishing line spools are much larger in dia than the spools that res wire comes on though but it would still work.

We just need to buy bigger spools of wire :)

Nice! I'll have to look into that! Thanks!

I was JK bro. People would kill for those attys before the RM2 came along. They are anything but inexpensive and readily available :). They are badayuss though. It's the one from my video the other night :). They are a "Z" coils wet dream.

Every now and then one will pop up in the classies.

How about 12 wraps, 27g 16 gauge Blunt Tip Luer Lock Needle 1.5 ohm.
I am not real happy with the amount of time it takes to heat up. I do like the diameter of the needle. I think that next time, I will go back to 30g. The smaller gauge would be great for a lower ohm coil. My coils are lasting about 1-2 weeks, with the cotton lasting 1-2 days. Vapor production and flavor is basically the same between 27 and 30g wire. It is just the amount of time it takes to heat up the coil. I also notice more battery drain on the 27g, probably caused by the longer heat time, requiring longer power cycles.

Same here, I hate waiting for coils to heat up. In general I find 27 ga K to be ideal for the .8-.9Ω range. I personally won't use 27 ga for anything over 1.0Ω.

The 27 ga coil I currently have on my Grand measures .98Ω. It heats up pretty quick but I think that's cause my Grand has an internal resistance of .06Ω. I my Mini 2.1 I went back to 28 & 30 ga. I tried a 27 ga coil that was just under 1Ω & it took a bit of time to heat up. But that's mainly probably cause my Mini is double the internal resistance of my Grand (I hope I can improve on that).

Where's this video? I haven't seen it yet. You holding out on me?

Sorry E, I was just goofing around friday (or was it saturday night) with a little chalice porn for some of the new guys that maybe hadn't seen one yet :)

It's in the RBA systems micro thread. Pretty weak video if you asked me :)
