The only device I've ever used that just plain "worked" was a plain ol' cartomizer. Not an XL or dual-coil cartomizer. Just a plain one.
But the flavor and vapor is too muted. I'm having pretty great experiences with the EVOD and the T3 heads are chuggin' along lately.

I've had poor-good experience with top-coils. The Stardust types and the Vivi Nova work alright. A little better than a carto. The innokin iClear 30 works better but I'm still a bottom coil guy, I guess. I can put up with random gurgles. If they all start flooding though....grrrr....

Hot d@amn! I'll have to give that a try for sure!

Burned taste on out of the box CE3 (the new versions) can be solved by removing the plastic tube and space the coil apart, it seems the coil is wrapped too tight and every loop touches each other. When i spaced the loops apart it now works without the slightest burn taste.

I'm on my second pack of the new kind. I still don't now why they changed, or why they needed to change.

Anyway the ratio of good and bad are about the same. They are still the best delivery system for me, as for the problems it's the same for everyone else. A bit of bleeding when they get low on juice and after about a week to ten days use they start to gurgle. I've only had one I couldn't use from out of the packet, this was due to a very bad tinny/burnt taste. Also a similar taste (but not as bad) comes after the same amount of use as above but I haven't tried to take them apart to separate the coils yet, they are still at the price where I feel comfortable enough to start on another one when this gets too bad. I haven't tried to clean one yet either but might try that soon, see if it helps.

I was worried when I heard the model was changing, I love the CE3 but the new ones stand up for me so I'm kind of relieved. They do need filling more because you can't put as much juice in though.

So to summarise it is basically 'as is' for me apart from the juice capacity.

I rebuilt two CE3s today. Overall it wasn't too hard, but the older version, at least I think it as the older version (short base) had the coil leads glued in place in the ceramic cup. That was a pain, but other than that it's a piece of cake. A little "tuning with wick size, coil wraps and wire sizeand I'll never run out of CE3s.

Eight isn't too bad at all, Konstantine. I used a couple I had "retired" and I've saved all the tubes and bases from all of the ones that have failed on me so far. Once I get "good" at rebuilding, I may try a video, but it ain't going on YouTube. I'll put a link on my profile here.

Just wondering if you guys had some specifics on rebuilding these. I just ordered another 5 pack (this last pack lasted me a solid month with cleaning and taking care of them ... coils just broke eventually) but I'd like to rebuild the ones I have.

What size silica wick are you guys using? I see anything from 1mm to 3mm for sale. And what size wire? Earlier in the thread someone said 32g seemed a bit big. Would 36g work better? There was also mention as to whether or not the no-resistance wire is needed; is that true?

Also, to use a multimeter to check resistance, do I do it right after I wrap the coil? Does juice need to be on the wick? Do I even need to worry about this?

I hate throwing things out, especially when it's a little piece of wire keeping me from reusing it. :)

I haven't rebuilt any in a while and can't answer all your questions, but...

I was using 32ga wire with five or six turns. I used 2.5mm wick but took a few strands out. You can check the resistance after winding, before putting it into the base, to get a rough idea then check again after putting it into the base. Liquid won't effect the resistance.
