Yeah, doesn't it seem like the original computer stuff happened a hundred years ago? Wow, are WE that old?? Technology sure has come a very long way! I'm watching the opening of the Olympics and it's fabulous with all the lighting and images and that's play time. To think we've gone to other planets and left the solar system because of what's been developed with computers. Wow.
Ditto here, for 21 years in da OJ industry. Ditto on da Vic20 & C128 w/dual drives.
Who ever learned how to use a slide rule? Got several of my ol' ones for my g-kids to take to school for show & tell.
I guess because I grew up with and followed modern technology, I'm not as impressed as I am with ancient architecture and engineering. Amazing, whether past or present!
There is that, they did it without computers OR slipsticks! Still have a 6" pocket one, in my desk, but all my big ones are long gone. As is my memory of how to do much more than multiply and divide with it!
That looks just like the computers and the cards my mother used when I went to work with her one time. The room she was in was under lock and key and a guard had to let us in.
I did. But, I have no idea how to use one anymore. After all, that was back in 1972!
First personal computer was the Sinclair Zx with 4k memory. Learned most of my programming on mainframe using DEC PDP terminals and 8 inch floppies that held a whopping 128k and were around $15 each at thee time. Learned fortran on punch cards. Spent hundreds of hours playing Adventure and Zork. XYZZY. You are in an maze of little twisty passages all a like.

Well, they accepted our offer on the house today. So we won't be living in motels forever. In fact, since it is being sold by someone who decided that it isn't worth it to come back up north each summer anymore, it is even partially furnished, and since we're paying cash they're fine with us moving in before closing.
As usual for me, on any purchase that involves negotiating, I feel like I could have gotten it cheaper. We put in what I thought was a low offer and they said "yep, sure, sounds good to us" so of course now I think that we should have gone lower. But it's still a heck of a deal and it feels so good to have it done.
Now we just need to convince an active young dog who's used to running around loose that he needs to stay on a leash until the ground thaws and we can put up a fence.

OK. I looked, and fell for it. Now what about those favorites-- gotta stock up on those, at those prices!! BTW, I passed on Vanilla cupcake-- I vaped entirely too much vanilla when I first started.
Felt in a better mood once I put on the J-wrap. Just feels so much better than a duc-wrap.
Also needed a battery case.
Amoret, glad to know you got a new place to live. Small town North Dakota is probably a buyers' market, anyway. Probably releasing the sellers from a year-long headache. How much furniture did you get with it?

Hi guys & gals....I haven't dropped off the earth yet; just some medical issues that I have to learn how to cope with. Bette Davis was right when she said "Growing old isn't for sissies" (think that's who said it) but gee, I keep thinking & sticking with "I'm 17"...yea right!! I have been checking in & making sure everyone is staying out of trouble or at least having fun....
I have a question & I know this is the only place to ask it. Does anyone have a Phiniac tank?? I fell in love with 'hot cinnamon' & it's doing a job on destroying my poly tanks, bummer because I love my subs from M&P & the ease of filling them. Any & all comments & suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW...I use Resurrector cartos & those I WILL NOT give up.

Welcome back. We missed you. I use a Davide mini for that, and fill with a bottle with a needle-tip.
Thanks 0mg....Where do you get the Davide & does it leak? This is killing me, the Sub is the only tank that I've used for centuries & the Phiniac is robbing my kid of her inheritance.....
