Uncle Willie, all I gotta say is _______. You can fill in the blank. You are a pretty darn insightful man. Here's a hint..........

Maybe somewhere down the road aways
You'll think of me, wonder where I am these days
Maybe somewhere down the road when somebody plays Purple haze

Nice tunes. I have always liked Tom Petty. I have most of his CDs. This was after I made the mistake of ditching all my vinyl. Big mistake and not recoverable I think.

Sent from my Galaxy Note 2 Android phone on a keyboard that waaayyy too small (or my thumbs are waaayyy too big).

If you notice the empty Rocking chair with a Gibson in it on the "End of the Line" video .. that was for Roy Orbison, who had passed before the vid was made yet sings in it .. and of course, George Harrison is gone now as well .. When my day comes, I'll leave a line in my Will to send Iffy one of my Gibsons so he can place it in my Porch recliner ..

Still have the vinyl. :) 45's n' 33's. THink even a few 78's.

BUT the old component system still sittin in a corner. Seems no one gets it. Old Marantz. 300 w per channel. And for the old folks, back in the day 300 wpc was just that. Today 300w pc seems to mean 75w 4 ways. Got one blown woofer and finding one that will handle the power is pretty much an effort in futility.

Have you looked at Parts Express?

Problem is no where to really set it up since I moved. And it is an 18" sub in the enclosures. HUGE speakers. So there it sits. :( It used to vibrate pictures (literally) off the wall. Had a band playing at a party a few houses away once. (maybe 300 ft +) Cranked it and everyone stopped. It drowned out the band. :)

Nice pic of the hummer, Willie and a great set of music today.

My first real kiss was from a very bold and free spirited girl named Christine .. I still think of her some days .. especially the days when I try and find a shred of the child I used to be .. you know, it's still in there somewhere, if you look deep enough .. the wonder, the newness .. but you sometimes really have to look deep ..

to paraphrase a bit "...We were so much older than, we're younger than that now..." Fall takes me back when Janet and I were first married and living in a little cabin in the woods. Life seemed so much simpler then. If there was enough wood to stay warm through the winter - all was good.

I'm gonna refrain from using "wood and hummer" in a sentence .. ;)

Dylan can pretty well sum it up as you well know ..

I'll leave it with you kids this way today .. I got a new tattoo a few days back .. my philosophy on tattoos is "You can take it with you" .. anyone that can guess the meaning gets a song or two dedication next time I mosey on in to the Porch .. leave the light on for me and stay off my recliner ..

Mike - It appears my son is not in much of a hurry to move. I took a couple weeks off (mainly to recover) and was under the impression he would get busy. I just have a little bit left to do and then.....we start on the 54 boxes of flooring. He was going to get a quote on spraying the popcorn ceiling but I finished that job too. The whole time I was doing it.......I thought about Willie and his glitter and leaf blower.

That's ok, I'll give them to the bird that hates me. Of course, it won't change his mind.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening......

Sometime in the next couple of weeks I plan to play tennis for the first time in about 4 or 5 years. I won't be expecting much of myself, just to get out and hit a few with a tennis buddy, maybe play a set. I'm sure my back, which I broke in Dec 2012, will be the first part of me to let me know when I'm exerting myself too much. But I'm pretty sure I'll have more wind than I did when I was smoking 2.5 packs a day.

I'm also going to my 45th high school reunion up in NJ a week from today.

Anybody besides me been watching the tennis from the US Open? Good stuff. Women's final and men's doubles final tomorrow, men's final Monday.

Today would have been my dad's 88th birthday. He died on May 1. I've been thinking about him a lot today.

Bigbells, I know it is hard. It's been 10 years since my mom passed. And every time I get upset about getting upset, I think to myself..........this means that I still care so much that it hurts. I hope that hurt never goes away. Right up there with I hope I never forget how bad the last cigarette I smoked tasted. My mother would have been 81 on August 4th. My dad turned 81 on August 28th and I can still remember him giving her grief every year about being older than him. All the happy memories continue to live on. Think about those and it will help you get through the sad times.

I hope it doesn't sound insensitive when I say that I'm not feeling sad, I'm just thinking about my Dad a lot. I like thinking... been told a thousand times that I think too much.

Of course, part of the reason is that Facebook has been notifying me all day that today is Dad's birthday. :toast: If I'd gone ahead and posted to his FB page the notification would have gone away, but I didn't mind.

One of my guilty pleasures is bird watching .. especially the Hummingbirds .. I have been known to sit very still in my old school aluminum lawn chair (I absolutely hate those canvas sling like chairs that force your body into some un-natural contortion) .. and patiently wait to blend into the landscape long enough so that the birds begin to ignore me .. with my Nikon in my lap, when the time is right, I slowly bring it up, manually focusing because auto focus won't be fast enough .. and with my eyesight such as it is, it can be hit or miss .. digital makes it so delightful to be able to take as many as is needed to eventually get at least a fairly good one .. back in the days of film, it could and did get expensive ..

humnigbird_orange_08_20_2013_3_small_zps111ccd69.jpg~original

It's hard to double and triple like something that hits at the heart. I do like to sit with the Nikon and wait for something to happen. I don't really care if nothing does.... It's just worth it to sit there and wait to see.....

Never thought I'd run across someone else who had that kind of patience.....

Hey there UW. Quite a unique tat you got there. Let's see, as to the meaning, I'm thinking the phrases are the secret passwords to get into the back room of the Gentleman's club.

Willie, that photo you took of the hummer is fabulous! Good job! I sat with the camera on the tripod trained on the feeder waiting to get a good shot, it's not easy! Those little jewels of energy will hover 2' in front of my face to check me out while I'm watering the plants, but then make it so hard to snap a picture while they're 10' away! If you have a regular seed feeder set up, you could try sitting nearby with seed in your hands in the winter. Chances are they'll perch on your finger to sort out the perfect seed! Woohoo!

Love, love, love the Wilburys! Thanks yet again for another great selection!
