Well I just got a glimpse of the future. Watching Sundance and they had a commercial on for a product called VUSE. A vapor cigarette guaranteed to give you a great puff first time everytime. Made in America by tobacco experts. Now I wonder who that could be? DUH. I didn't think it would happen so soon but it is just what CASAA said would happen.

Thank you, no-nic (AKA Omg), for pointing out the high number of non-vaping-related posts on the Front Porch.

My opinion is that the multitude of posts that welcome newcomers are also (usually) non-vaping-related, and there are a lot of such posts.

The biggest part of the problem, in my opinion, is that we truly are a friendly group and all of us enjoy establishing personal relationships with the other members of the group. Unfortunately, this makes it VERY difficult to keep one thread strictly vape-related.

On the other hand, it's nice when the posts on the Front Porch are about vaping, and the posts on the Back Porch are "anything goes". The more the two threads are the same, the less they're different, and difference is a GOOD thing. Sometimes I feel like a nut (Back Porch), sometimes I don't (Front Porch).

Since some people want to increase their post count (don't ask me why), it doesn't help that Back Porch posts don't count toward that total. I personally think all posts should count, or none.

I point no fingers. (Well, I COULD, but it would likely serve only to demonstrate why I flunked out of Diplomacy School.) I sometimes forget what porch I'm on too. I do believe, though, that the better we keep things separate the better both threads become.

We had a HB feeder. You can buy "food" anywhere. Wallyworld, etc. But it's always red. From what I understand they are attracted to the color. But I believe it's just a form of sugar n' water mixed with the red dye.

But... wuddooeyeno? :)

I've read that the nectar doesn't need the red food coloring and neither do the birds. Makes sense since the nectar in the flowers isn't red, just the flowers. I've got 2 HummZinger feeders and the plastic top is red. The nectar inside is just sugar and water that I make. They recommended 4-1 sugar to water. I don't know if that's just an opinion or it really is the right mix for the birds. In the beginning I didn't realize that they eat bugs for food and the nectar for energy. We have a lot of bugs out there so they should be fat and happy!

Yeah, sorry for getting caught up in off topic on the front porch. Just tried to give some advice on a kayfun coil and people started asking me questions that weren't on topic. Didn't want to be rude and blow them off. I will try to keep it on topic in the future if I find I have advice to add on that side!

No biggie. I truly appreciate your social consideration! Actually, it's not a 'zero tolerance' zone over dere. We just need to be 'self aware' and make adjustments as needed.

Glad to have ya on da back porch too!

It seems to be an "unknown-until-it's-too-late-percentage-of-tolerance" zone, but what do I know? The original Front Porch thread was moved to the Lounge long before I joined ECF. My guess is that the expression of hard feelings is taken much more seriously by TPTB than are off-topic posts, but I'll admit that when I'm king, all high-fivin', bridal showers, baby christenings and welcome committee stuff will be in the Lounge.

Don't worry, though. I know as well as you do that I'll never be king, and I'm glad about that. WAY too much work!

No need to apologize - it's a relaxed vapers front porch and easy to stray off the vaping topic. Most if not all of us are 'guilty' of it. Particularly when trying to be friendly with new folks grabbing a rocker and making themselves at home. So when someone reminds us we're straying, no one should take offense and just jump on over to the back porch.

Welcome to the back porch too. I think these are a great bunch of folks and I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. Again Mekc57, great advice! We have had a fairly large group of new folks lately and the voice of experience is always needed and welcome, even by those of us that aren't that new to vaping. I hope I don't ever stop trying and learning new things.

Yeah, just sugar and water, one to four. I usually bring it to a boil just so it lasts a little longer. But with the current invasion I've had to refill the feeder every day anyhow. There weren't quite as many of them today, though, so I suspect that I was right and they were just fueling up before heading south. So I'll be back to just gold finches, woodpeckers, chickadees and grosbeaks.

I've always enjoyed bird watching, but at the farm there wasn't any way to easily see them from the living room. At this house I have the feeders set up so I can watch them from the recliner. Since I can't walk around much it's nice to have entertainment in addition to the computer and kindle. I don't much enjoy TV, though I keep forgetting that I can stream whatever I want to watch whenever I want to watch it.

I did have a good chuckle about electronics last night when I got up to go to bed and realized that I was carrying three APVs, two phones and the kindle into the bedroom with me. No wonder I need three charging hubs.

Jumpin' Jeehosafats!

So i was enjoying my morning vape & coffee until I left the porch and saw this in the general forum.

Just to further illustrate that Big Tobacco is not our friend in the FDA Regulations, they have proposed a ban on e-liquids being used in open system aerosol containers. Ie: tanks, clearomizers and cartomizers. I would assume this would also apply to RBA type devices, too. They propose e-liquid be sold only in closed non-refillable cartridges like Blu e-cigarettes use.
